You can use HPTuners and just delete the whole system and remove it from your truck.

Wondering if anyone has tried the Hewitt Tech Plug and Play Bypass Kit?

Can you use the HP Tuner and still leave the system? (trying to avoid wrenchwork for a bit since I hurt my back)

It may have been discussed, but why would it be happening to almost everyone right at 80k miles? Like Toyota set it up as some kind of longterm sales opportunity.

I just cleared a P2441 code I had for about 2 weeks, just didn't take time to get the code read.

Disconnected the battery for about 15-20 minutes while cleaning the posts off and it's gone. I get the feeling this is going to be a thing every year when the seasons warm up. Again, I never had this until after I put on the LCE header. Not the header's fault either.

2015 v6 with 39k miles w/p2442. I called Toyota HQ and the local dealer (Auburn, Commiefornia) and no joy. Will not cover the repair/replacement. Oh and I have the Platinum warranty. Follow up. Spoke with Thompson's in Placerville. They advised when it throws the the code/CEL/limp mode, to have it towed to them....then maybe they can help. I think an HP Tuner will be my father's day gift to myself LOL.

Mine happened at exactly 40k, and right now I'm at about 90k, so I'm holding my breath waiting for the good ole Limp Mode to kick in soon :(

Update on the 10 year warranty, I want to be prepared if it happens again, since mine has already been replaced at 45k miles. I called Toyota a few weeks ago to confirm that the 10 year extended warranty will indeed cover the replacement of the system even if I already had it fixed by them once already. And they did say Yes - it is covered for as many times as it happens up to the 10 year mark. So I still have a couple years till it runs out.

I mis-typed - My rims are 16x7, which is the issue.

I'm having this issue right now in my 2012. I see the warranty extends to 2022, or 240,000km whichever comes first. My truck has 243,000km. I hope I can find a dealership willing to overlook the 3000 extra kms.

Almost a perfect fit. Just a little file/dremel work to enlarge the stud holes and it'll do just what you need.

    To clarify;

The only way to get rid of the dummy lights is to get the above block plate kit and use tune software for a fee?

My header, and I have to assume environment factors (humidity and barometric pressure), will set mine off. I've not noticed any adverse effects when the CEL and others are on, just an annoyance. Luckily, I suppose, being a 4 banger MT 'prevents' the limp mode? I removed the factory foam sponge long ago and swapped for the Uni-Filter, no issues. Added the LCE header, and started getting codes for this stupid emissions pump, no exhaust leaks whatsoever.

Secondary air fan revs for 15 seconds on cold start, CEL and TRAC OFF lights came on limp mode kicked in. Brought it to dealership, they repaired under recall (was also covered under extended warranty). Picked up, ran as well as it ever did for a day. Exact same symptoms back again. Can’t get them to return my calls, but I’ll be there @ 7am Monday to find out what’s next.Has anyone else had this “repaired” and had a immediately return?:frusty:11B58AC3-A6E5-4474-A99C-40839E2D0AE2.jpg

looks like they replaced the valves and filter but not the pump. I bet the pump itself is what’s bad.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Dudes. Dudes. Months ago I replaced the little rubber hose that comes off it and the cel has been off ever since.

Thanks, I believe you are correct. I’m curious if that will be covered under either the extended warranty or recall.
I forgot to mention the P2442 code came up before I brought it in. I can’t see where they pulled the codes themselves, or just installed the kit and called it a day. I’ll report back once they get it again. Thanks!

The pump is also part of the recall, but if a visual inspection passes (no broken vanes on pump impeller) they just replace the filter and add a new shroud to the pump. If it IS the pump you’ll get taken care of, just a hassle but at least nothing comes out of your pocket.

Thanks, good to know it is covered, and hopefully that is all it is!
On a positive note, after the initial service it runs better than it ever has, with much more pickup than before. The truck has been solid as a rock otherwise.
