What do the tables look like for TC lock 4th, 5th, and 6th?
I ask because maybe in those scenarios, the TC doesn't/isn't supposed to lock.

    Legitimate speeds... 30s 40s 50s etcetera. Not 200+

I'm wondering if those other situations it's just not supposed to lock in, but that's only a guess.

This is correct. Some of the tables allow for lockup, some do not. By making the speeds 200+ the ecu ensures it does not lock up.

How the ecu decides to follow a table that allows it to lock up, vs one that does not, i don’t know.

I really think with the potential for catastrophic destruction is within our hands that perhaps OVTune should host a OVTune for Dummies101 session with the people that are leading the way on tune modding. A small group of like 10 or so to explain each table and what modifying the parameters do. It's really becoming clear how complex the Toyota tune is and adjustments in normal places require adjustments in places we don't think about. 2D tables, 3D tables, 8 different shifting tables for a total of 70 up/down shift tables, 20 accelerator shifting schedules, 10 ECT shifting schedules (that's 100 shift maps!), 91 torque converter maps...... It's completely overbearing for the average consumer that will just want to adjust their tip in or raise their shift point from 4th to 5th by 500 rpm. people are gonna want simple and safe. Teaching a group of guys here to use the tools properly then in turn having those people available to help others will be a HUGE benefit to OV and his software. Better yet, making a dumbed down version that allows a person to find the simplest of requests (tip in, shift points, torque converter lock/unlock, gearing, tire size) that require a percentage increase and that in turn adjusts all tables accordingly would be incredibly desired by consumers.

Yeah, I have a tune that I did all my shift points and tc adjustments to. I'm afraid to run them! I felt confident with the airflow throttle limit adjustments, the throttle positions etc. But when I start getting into potential theories and not really knowing... I draw the line. I'm not afraid to admit I need a seminar or three under my belt before I continue on this journey.

On 2.0 reg stock, I have the fishbitey harsh shifts when coming to a stop every time. This seems to happen to every tune I’ve tried after 600ish km except the One the truck came with.... Fed up. I give up. Flashing back to 100% stock. The Toyota tune was mashed potatoes compared to OVtune but at least I don’t get so much clunking and herky- jerky shifting. Man I wish I could just use ECT around town but being at almost 3000rpm driving 55kmh is fucking ridiculous. Something is mechanically wrong with my transmission. Bringing it to Toyota ASAP. Does anyone else who’s tuned have jerky shifting when coming to a stop? Or is my transmission actually broken?

Ya that's what I was figuring his original concept was but here we are, a bunch of amateurs guessing pretty much every single thing being adjusted. Granted, it's fun to dive into the stuff and most of the guessing is of the educated type using theory and logic but still....it's guessing. Guidance should be imperative at this point cause a grenaded motor by some yahoo that wants MOAAAARR could turn out to be really bad press for OV, his company and Toyota trying to look deeper for tuned trucks
i do realize that's a risk we all agreed to and OV has disclaimers in place and it will probably happen even after a tutorial is released but we all know the level of stupidity some people in this forum posses. I use to watch Looney Tunes every saturday morning when I was growing up, now i watch the OVTune threads and I'm just as entertained

Strange. This happens to me on the stock tune, but never once on OVtunes. 2018 like yourself too.

You’re not likely to hurt your truck messing with shift points. I’ve yet to hear of an MT ogre breaking his truck on a shift.

Those are correct. Those values make sure it never locks in those gears / situations

    Thank you for the verification.

I did manage to get my acis numbers to kind of stay put. I entered 3650,1,1,1,1,3300 and saved. Closed file, reopened, and it had 3650, .78, .78, .78, .78, 3300 saved in it. At least the 25,600.78 #s went away!

Are you logging? Was wondering if you could activate ACIS and see how long it stays on.
    Thanks

I've done zero logging. I just assume it's doing what I ask at this point. Smells like shit, must be shit, principle.
