A question came up in conversation with my neighbor. He had noted that I had started my truck from inside the house. He ask if it was available on manual transmissions. This brought up the question if one would have to leave it in neutral to start it remotely.

It would have to be in neutral and IIRC, there is a signal that has to come from the clutch that it is engaged. That might be required by Toyota to start with the key as well, but I'm not sure.

Most shops will not install remote start in manual transmission vehicles because of liability concerns. A friend has a Miata and he got remote unlock installed, but they wouldn't connect the remote start portion.

N2 for manual works well. Had it on my Tacoma and once you get used to putting the truck in "ready mode" all winter, it works just like any other.

It's more like... come to a stop like you always do with foot on brake, pull up the e-brake, take the key out and get out like always.
Nothing really special about it other than leaving it in neutral.

Except the hokey pokey won't start your manual. Might start grandma's Buick, but not your 3rd gen. However, the Macarena on the other hand might if you want to try and let us know? :p:D

Drifting a bit, but how many of you that are parents thought it was so cute when your little girls did the Macarena? The dance was invented by a drunk dancer taking her clothes of at a party. Legend has it she entertained with more than dance that night.
