I briefly went outside and could almost eat the air. The aqi the last couple days was 63 and 71.

Today its 142.

 

Smoke filled skies here with AQI of 99

My youngest son is loving the tacoma. upgraded to a bull bar today. done been bit by the bug. tires and atleast level it. @Tacoma Mike not a mod.

Well, I have my Sunday project now. Went out to open the garage door..... SNAP..... goes the motor shaft that drives the chain. Bah!!! Can't really complain too much as it is more than 10 years old. Is, or rather was a a Craftsman chain drive. Home Depot in the morning.

 

Bull bar will do more damage to the truck than whatever you hit and don't tow from it.


I'm not a fan. As you can tell.

Testing the equipment for my future solar pond.

After calculating the power draw from the pumps and lights, the battery amp hours and the solar panel charge rate I determined I could run everything off the battery 24/7
if I added a second panel. I added a second one today. They even charge well in the horrible smoke filled sky.



I removed an old unused satellite dish off my chimney and will use this part to mount them on a pole in an area of the yard that gets the most sunlight.



Then I moved everything to the same fuse block. I added two power distribution blocks from the solar panels to the controller.



I will let this run in the dogs pool for a while to make sure everything works well before digging a big hole in the yard.

 

yup you are right. it is just for looks.he doesnt run in the mountains like my older one,really never will see a forestservice road.its just the first thing he wanted for it.I did make him a list of maint. items to do like sparkplugs.sent him a list of tool sizes for tacomas etc.

We got ours from HD over 17 years ago.
Chain drive all the way.
I blew a spring a month or so ago.
They had them right in stock.


Yea you don’t realize how heavy wooden doors are until you repair them.
Had to rebuild one lower door section a few years ago.
Thought I was going to end up in traction.
Have fun...
Shouldn’t be to hard. Mounts and angles are already there for you to work with.
