Anything with an i7 is a worthy machine; thats a shame. My lab laptop that just sits on my desk and runs wireshark is a first gen i7 and its _plenty_ fast for 95% of what people do with computers these days. And thermal paste can be replaced...

That's a shame. Those things are excellent little (big) bricks that can take hella abuse for years. Was thinking of using mine as a ghetto Lowrance in my truck since it has built in GPS.

Yeah my boss isn't a fan of letting a computer exist on campus past 3-4 years. Partly has to do with the local elementary school donations. But the toughbooks decision confused me.
Not going to lie. When we learned they were being tossed and not reissued we slammed a few on the asphalt outside. Came out with some mild scratches. This was mid COVID shutdown and not even the campus police were around. Just our 5 vehicles parked in the lot alone lol.

I've got a spare if you're interested in it. I used it for vehicle diagnostics for a while but clean though

Firestone called yesterday said my cel for the missfire was my upstream o2 sensor. Checked it and there was no volts so they're gonna try a new one to see if it fixes the "rubberband" missfire. They couldnt get the temps to go up i told them turn the ac on and drive around for a a bit, that itd be responsive to the throttle. Feel like i got air in the system causing the rise but idk. Makes sense for air to replace the coolant based on physics

You're a good sport about the whole thing. Really doesn't benefit you to not be cool about it. It frustrates me reading it so I can imagine your feelings actually going through it.
Source of your MIL (is it the P030x code?) is your upstream AF sensor? That's a new one.
Replacing the head should have been a damn straight forward job for them..... Well it is a tire shop I guess.
Sorry to hear the issues dude

Yeah that seems odd to me too. O2 sensors don't have anything to do with misfires that I am aware of. Hmmmm.

Idk if id consider it a missfire more so jumps in rpms up and the truck nearly dying out. Goes between the two and the cel flashes during either. Thanks for ur condolences tho, idk if its related to their work but it is weird to shit out the same time

I hope our CA, OR, and WA (west coast) members are staying safe with all of the fires I see in the news.
