I went into Discount Tire (America’s Tire here) and showed them 4WheelParts.com had the Toyo A/T III LT255/80R17 for about $1 less, and they had a 10% off Labor Day coupon code so I was given $110 off ($22 per tire x 5) no questions asked. Tires are on order, still waiting for them and crossing my fingers about no rub with 4Runner Pro/SEMA wheels I’ve got sitting here in the box.

Just got them installed after riding on the stock Toyo A30s for so long. So much better.
265/70r17 on the TRD Sema wheels on stock TRD Sport suspension. I think there is a slight rub on the left rear side fender which I think is from full lock reversing but I need to check more as I drive.

Just to add to this... Yes even the p series has a more aggressive side. As noted it includes the line in the sidewall. Does change the look. Mine had a yellow dot on the sidewall that was more aggressive.

And there were also blue and yellow lines on the tread. Blue line was closest to the more aggressive sidewall.

Last thing... Still figuring out best pressure but the shop put them at 38 cold... That felt like a bit much.

Does anyone know why the OWL version weighs 3lbs per tire heavier then the standard black sidewalls? My dad was old school and always ran with the OWL facing out, so as an homage to him I try and buy OWL when available. Toyo sells this tire in the size and load range I'm looking for, but lists the OWL version at 3lbs heavier. You guys think it's a typo, or am I missing something here?

It's also slightly taller on the 265/75r16 size. I think someone posted earlier that Toyo said it had an extra layer of rubber or something that added the extra weight.

Ok, got it. So both black sidewalls, and the OWL in that size must be produced in Japan, hence the OWL weighing 3lbs more due to an additional layer of rubber in the sidewall. This is why I love this forum, I got an answer from you guys faster then I did from Toyo.

    Thanks for the help,
    Nate.

The question should be. That weight difference is not consistent across sizes and why is a C load rating only one pound lighter than an E load rating? That is the case in the 285/75-17 BSW but in the case of the the 285/70-17 the C load rated BSW is 2 pounds heavier than the E load rated OWL. I had the question for Toyo USA why no C load rating in 16" but there were in 17". But with only a pound difference maybe C's are not needed. I would like to see how the C's vs the E's do when aired down. So many questions.

Is the tread different between BSW vs OWL in SL rating? Pictures of the BSW show the extra syping where all of the pictures of OWL I've seen show the same tread as the LT version.

I thought the difference was between the SL vs. the E rated tires. It might just be that BSW/OWL is different between those ratings on the tires, so I guess that might also be technically true also.
