    Gave back the new Martin D28 I bought, and instead went for this used D28 from 03/04.

    Paid $1500 less and it sounds better :thumbsup:

    I returned a JEM blue floral pattern a couple years ago. Horrible guitar for $2k.
    Hope you are enjoying the older D model.

    Changed my order for the 3rd (more like 5 or 6) and final time.

    I went with the highest of the 17 series.
    TD-17KVX instead of the KVS.

    Module is the same td-17 but other hardware is upgraded with the KVX.

    3 cymbals Instead of 2.
    2x crash cy-12 instead of cy-8 on the previous kit.
    1x13r ride.
    Stand alone hi-hat instead of a hi-hat on a pole. (I chose a Tama Iron Cobra)
    Same double kick. (DW3000)

    The only thing that concerns me is the snare drum. Nearly every vid that I've watched, it moves a bit more than I like. Fortunately, it's a 12" snare and fits perfect in any snare stand.

    I was assured that my name is on one of the kits when the truck came in, in oct.

    What amp you going to push that thru? I think i saw Peavey speakers or was i reading someone else?

    No speaker. I'll run the L/R XLR outputs directly into my Tascam 32 track and JBL 305's
    or into EZ drummer 2 then to the Tascam. I dont really need it to be loud atm.
    But yea, the Roland PM 100 or PM 200 will eventually come into play somewhere.

    By the time I upgraded the TD-1DMK, I was at 17-KVS prices.
    By the time I upgraded the 17-KVS, I was at KVX prices.

    The hi-hat stand (ordered) and snare stand (local for $30) will be nice touches.
    Eventually will get 2 crash stands (FB marketplace) and ride stand. (same)
    That should complete the kit.

    I think after the FB crash stands and the FB ride stand, Ill be at about $2450.
    Thats not to bad for a complete Roland kit with moderate upgrades.

    Its a huge purchase for me. Super stoked.
    I dont play with a band or play out, its just another something to add to the studio.
    I feel super limited with just banging out a beat with ez drummer on my keyboard or trying
    to bang out several beats for intro, main, chorus, whatever and drop them into the timeline
    of ez drummer to form a song.

    and I'm no drummer man. Ive played drums and can keep a beat, thats about it.
    But to be able to walk in, sit down and push record and start banging beats
    will make me want to play more.|

    50 preset kits and 50 user kits, 130 sounds with the ability to import sounds via .wav
    plus the 30 kits or so in ez drummer. It will keep me very, very busy.

    The metal kit is fab!!

    Same boat as I was when I bought my setup...then upgrades lol...youre getting it outta the first.

    And presets and import are reasons i went from TD3 to TD8.

    When is delivery? Go get some sticks and a practice pad in the meantime, work on your paradiddles
