So as the title suggests, in this thread I will show you how to get 30mpg, how to pass people on the highway with little effort, and do it all of these mods in one short afternoon.

Step 1: You need to ask yourself some fundamental questions like, "Do I really need both of these benefits?" "Is my daily drive really that bad?"

Step 2: After you answer yes to both of those you need to consider whether or not you really need to tow/haul often and if you really do offroad often. This is certainly important since the mod I will show will really hinder your tow/haul capacity and completely destroy your offroad abilities.

Well? What do you think? You feel you could use this mod? Shall we advance to step 3?

Step 3: Contact your local toyota dealership.

Step 4: Show up and trade in your vehicle for one of these:

The front end looks like a cross between a new lexus and a old mazda cx5.

    Otherwise sweet looking car.

The old 'bed delete' mod... interesting. Not sure how I'd manage the half-dozen sheets of gyproc I had to bring home the other day, nor the 16' 2x6s, but I suppose I could change my name to 'Nancy'....

Lol, thats why I said in the beginning that there were some things to consider before doing this mod.

Now, you can do like me and not trade in your truck. I still value my camping a lot, so I had to keep the bandit.

The first mistake looks like was you getting a truck for the MPGs trucks are not for that & if that is what you are concern about stay away from anything that is heavy has large wheels or put larger wheels in it just saying we are not here to complain about not getting 30mpg it’s how much can we do to make it get less mpgs by making it heavier & more fun to drive just buy your self a Prius & try taking that off road good luck

Its just the top half of the grill with the toyota logo on it that looks mazda. Its kind of a weird front end. The top half says normal, the bottom half says extreme.

I did the reverse of this mod and would do it again, even though it certainly wasn’t the smartest financial decision. I love my Tacoma.

If I could -- probably can but tell myself I can't -- afford 2 vehicles, something like this would be my 2nd vehicle. There's scarcely a day that goes by when I don't wish I had a smaller carbon footprint. Our planet's climate is heading in a very dangerous direction and, as a materialistic American, I'm not an insignificant contributor to that.

I only occasionally use my truck for truck'ish things, like hauling 2 hunting partners, 2 dogs, and hunting gear for a 3-day trip to eastern WA into the maw of a snowstorm, or taking a 2-week trip to North Dakota every November. Or picking up a load of bark to spread on the landscaping once / year. But I could make do with something like a hybrid Highlander, maybe even a hybrid RAV4 with a cargo box, and obtain much better MPG's. And maybe that's what I'll do after I feel I've gotten my money's worth out of this truck.

The problem was finding it. I was originally going for an XLE or XSE, but then I found out they make a TRD and my friend who works at a dealership 30 minutes out texts me and says "I know you wanted to avoid gray, but look whats getting unloaded from the truck."
