I really wanted a 1st gen Tundra with the 4.7 V8, but they hold their value too well. It’s fun to sell an older Toyota but it hurts to buy one!

I fought buying a 3rd gen, but am stoked that I finally came to the dark side

I don't know my Dad has a Gen 1 bought over 20 years ago that is still solid. That is pretty hard to beat.

    Congrats on the new truck.

From a first time Toyota owners perspective, it’s funny the amount of shit talking that was going on in this forum since the roll out of the 3rd gen.

It has quieted down but there are still some members who find it necessary to interject what a POS the third gen is and most of those reports are going off information read on the internet or one test drive, lol.

The third gen has been racking up impressive sales numbers year after year, so there is that.

The Tacoma is a great small/ midsize truck- all of them.

    Even the 2nd gen...lol

Not certain I'd call that progress, but to each his own I suppose. I have a Taco only because they DON'T make this truck any more.

there's a few threads running at various places on Tacoma World about how to do this or what parts are required for it. Makes a world of difference with your daily driving

I wanted a new tacoma so when the opportunity came up, I sold my 2001 4.7 tundra with nearly 300k miles for $5k to a local garage in feburary this year...i'm sure they made money. I still miss that truck for a couple reasons.

The 3rd Gen is a great truck, and the fact that so many 2nd Gen owners are such butthurt babies about is really disappointing. I bought my 3rd Gen right at the beginning of 19 and absolutely loved it, but as many know the second you come here the 2nd Gen’rs will rain on your parade.

I absolutely love my 4Runner, but if I was going to be back in anything else it’d be a 3rd Gen. The first couple years of 2G had numerous small annoying issues just like the 3rd Gen. Neither is anywhere close to the issues you’d have with, say, an FCA product.

I’ve had it told to me first hand by a 2G owner. Maybe he’s delusional? I think it’s mainly the shape of the fenders that gets fellas all droolin’

Ahhh. I didn’t notice we had a GM fella sniffin’ around the 3G forum. That’s hilarious. If that ain’t jealousy incarnate, I don’t know what is.

I don’t go simpin’ over at the GM forum. No interest at all.
