Slingshots are okay, but if I were going to buy a 3 wheeled vehicle, I would go with a Vanderhall.

So after the valve adjustment yesterday, I got everything reassembled and had some free time this afternoon.

I took the Ninja out for a scoot today to make sure there were no leaks or other issues, and it runs better than ever before.
Not only does it start and idle easier when cold, but it also feels like it has more low end torque and pulls harder in the powerband.

I have been educated - proper valve tolerances are very important.

The question is are you ready to sell it for more than you paid for it?

    Warning: Novel below.

So, I've been battling with that decision for the past month. Ever since I started this journey last October when I took the MSF course, I knew I would get a starter bike and eventually upgrade. As fate would have it, I got the Ninja EX250 in late October 2019 and began my journey.
When I went to see it, it was obvious that the bike had been dropped at least twice, and wrecked at speed at least once (hit the ground hard enough to bend the front stay bracket). I could tell it had been sitting out in the rain for a long time.
I test rode it through a parking lot and we negotiated to $1,100.

Over the winter, I slowly learned about the bike and began fixing all the problems one-by-one. I bought the service manual and read it. I got it running better and took it out during the winter, as long as there was no snow/water/salt on the road surfaces. I putt-putted through my neighborhood at 20 mph until my fingers and toes went numb from the cold. I spent time in that parking lot until my entire body was sore.

As spring rolled around, I learned how to mount and balance a new tire. I did everything from rewiring the lighting circuit to rebuilding the carburetors. I feel like I saved that bike from being scrapped, because it had been so beaten on by the previous owners.
Long story short, I learned everything about riding a motorcycle on that Ninja. I even learned how to drop a bike.

As most of you know, I stumbled onto the CBR600F4i about four weeks ago and took it home, so the upgrade has officially taken place. I love the CBR and it has many miles yet to come.

However, the thought of selling the Ninja is almost an unapproachable subject for me. Giving the keys to somebody else seems like betraying an old friend. Since March, I've racked up 5,600 miles on that little bike, and every mile was an absolute blast. The plan was to sell it to help pay for the CBR, but I just can't seem to bring myself to do it.

The TL/DR answer to your question: I don't think so. :D

I too have a 2006 F4i, and like yours, it has a banana seat. May not look "cool", but it's like riding a couch down the freeway and the near perfect balance makes it a blast through the twisties.

It was my first bike, and although I should sell it to someone who will actually ride her, I just can't. Poor thing just stays in the garage.

There are several dedicated long distance riders using that Ninjette and I know at least one has completed the Iron Butt Rally twice. It's a solid, dependable machine that's easy enough to work on so why not keep it? Could be a low budget track day tool or with a few mods a comfortable enough touring machine. In reality the ideal number of motorcycles a person should own is N + 1 where N = the number you currently own. Basic math really.

Boy do I get that. Learned almost everything I know about motorcycles on the CB750. I have put less than 200 miles a year on it the last few years and occasionally think I should sell it, but then go sit on it or go for a short ride and say nope, no way in hell. Sigh, I need a bigger garage.
