My first was an 1985 Civic with those super rad pop up headlights. I always referred to the AC as 4 x 70, 4 windows down, 70 mph. I was sooooo happy to upgrade to a vehicle with AC when I graduated college.

glad to hear it. Now I know I didn't waste my money. I've heard that cleaning them by different weights of sand paper and then clear coating them in the end is the way to go.

Im thinking I'll be doing the same.

Civic is an 08. Love this little thing. My favorite tho is the 99-00 body style. I have built 3 of those. So easy to work on too

Just under 3.5gal. I liked that it was an easy solution to pressurized camp showers since I already have a 5gal jerry can setup for drinking/cooking.

I remember looking at a 1988 Si. fast little car, but insurance was high. So I decided to get one of the fox body mustangs. 1988 LX 302 V8. none of the extra weight of the GT spoilers and such. For only pushing 225 hp, that dam thing would scoot.

I've always liked hondas. Of all the car makers, I'd rather own a honda accord with a V6, if not a honda then a mustang with a V8.

For Trucks, you can't beat the 1st Gen Toyotas. I read the stories of the new gens with the Auto transmission always searching for a gear to be in. That would annoy the shit out of me. What really blows my mind is the price of Trucks these days. People act like 30-40k dollars for a new truck is nothing. I'll never buy a new vehicle again. have a good day

I had a friend back in high school that had what he called his "sink" installed in the dash of a mid 60's valiant. It was a stainless bowl with a hole in the bottom. I think he was using a pressurized tank to run the water, with a hose for draining going through the floor board. He use it to make his Scotch and Waters when we were on a road trip. Crazy dude.

well I got the passenger shock replaced today. What fucking nightmare that turned out to be. I was just getting started and was going to drop the 4 bolts from the ball joint , disconnect the sway bar end link, mark the camber bolts, and drop the lower control arm. Then my neighbor showed up. Don't get me wrong he's a great neighbor, and always willing to lend a hand. but he wanted to use his spring compressors, and do it his way.I even had my brother stand on the brake rotor to push the control are down, but that dam hole didn't want to line up. 3 hours later w finally got the bottom shock bolt in, but it's buggered up and will have to replaced. I can't believe that dam shock was that fucking hard to push up, so the bolt would go in. Now I'm so dam sore and wore out, that the drivers side is going to have to wait until tomorrow morning, unless I decide to get started on it later today, NOT.

I'll edit this post later with some pics. too dam tired to do anything right now.

shock job is complete. Truck rides so much better. Did the drivers side without cold spring compressors. dropped the four bolts from the ball joint to the Spindle, used a small floor jack under the control arm, worked like a charm.Hands are sore as hell today, Arthritis really sucks.

Here's a few pics, so glad this job is done

Why did you remove the LCA to get the shock out?

When you mark the cam bolts for loosening the Lower Control Arm, do you mark the front and the back or just the one side. Thanks in advance.

I didn't. I watched a video where you change out the shocks without using a spring compressor. you remove the 4 lower ball joint bolts, remove the sway bar end link. Mark the cam bolts, and loosen them up. Remove the top bolt of the shock, and use a jack to release the coil spring pressure. If needed the Lower control arm can swing free. remove the lower shock bolt, and then just install the new shock in reverse order. Looked pretty simple to me, especially after fighting that dam thing today.
