I think leafs are necessary if you plan on maintaining the factory rake, as rear shocks do not lift the rear. If you plan on hauling anything in the back or adding a bed rack/RTT, then it would be necessary to prevent any butt sag.

Hell yea it does John! Thanks. Yup, that swing up is exactly what I have. I was telling @Russty__ yesterday I had to cut about 4" off the end of it because when I was using it on my 4Runner it hit the spare. I'm sure I can make it work though. I'm already looking at backup cameras that I can mount to the top of the cap, just below the 3rd brake light So I don't have to relocate mine or do without. If I can find a cheap OEM wiring harness or make one, I should be able to run the wire a lot easier and make it quick disconnect like the OEM. Not that I ever see myself needing to remove the tailgate. I bet it wouldn't be too hard to cut and then weld the vertical support on that bent angle like yours. Then the wheel mount should be easy enough to make too.

That damn vertical support/mount is not freaking cheap! Remounting the tag is not shit but in Maryland it does have to be illuminated at night. Thanks again John! :fistbump:

That does look like a really well done mod. I’ve seen one or two, not many. Looks like it would add a little clearance up front lol. Not that it’ll help the cab mount in the back

I like how it kind of preserves the bumper should you want to sell it. I bet this would really good with a slimline. :boink: @Russty__

It was all thanks to Mr. Rhue and his precision tape job. The CMC will be done along with all the rear cuts once my plates get here.
