I was thinking OP wanted a manual transmission? If you're down for the auto transmission then buy an SR or SR5.. it's the same exact engine and transmission.

I SERIOUSLY hope your dealer doesn't know that ^^^^^^ if they do, they have you by the balls...

Buy a beater for the next six months or so and then so some shopping from a position of strength. Even if it is fake ;-)

 

No doubt the Tacoma market is tough right now. It is very hard to find any TRD models in my area no matter if you are looking for a Sport or OR. Most of the dealers in the broad area have a few SR's and 1 or 2 SR5's and they are usually 2wd. I got lucky this past Saturday and just happened to be at the Toyota dealer the same morning that a 2020 TRD OR 4x4 had arrived. It stickered for 40,907. I ended up paying 37,027 for it before tax and fees. That price included the 1000 rebate. I was only able to get it at that price because I had already purchased 2 other 2020 Toyotas from them in the previous 3 weeks and it still was some work to get them down to that price. I really wanted another 1000 off but no way that was happening.

 

I bought a new 2019 Camry from them last year for my wife, so they know I have another car and I also have a couple family members with extra cars that I can drive... They also know I will walk straight out the door and buy something else

 

Your looking for a deal in this environment!

 

One more thing on this, I actually had Carvana offer me more for my truck than what these guys are selling this one for. Mine is midnight black metallic and I have upgraded the tires and mine does have running boards, but just saying in todays market if that truck works for you it's a pretty nice deal.

 

But do they know you sold "your" car? They don't care about your wife's car. You both can't use it at the same time ;-)

My dealer only has 2 Tacomas on the lot a TRD sport (black) for 43k and a TRD OR (black) for 45.5K.... but the other dealership is selling SR5's for 35K-41K and I just checked and someone actually bought them. now they only have 2 SR AC 4cyl. for 26k. And yes they had a voodoo blue SR5 with black rims and a/t tires, possibly a spacer lift and had listed it at 41k


I dont have anything against the SR5, my 07 was a SR5... However, I dont mod my trucks other than A/T tires, tint, rain guards and bed cover. So I prefer to just buy a truck that has the features I want instead of adding them after the fact... the biggest thing is I dont care for the SR5 interior... I like the TRD interior, also while the tech isn't super important my 2019 Forester Sport had every Tech/app, etc... you could want/get and it hard to go backwards in tech especially when spending more money. That Forester was a great vehicle, I just needed a truck for house crap.

 

Yes, they know I sold my car. They dont know its my wifes car, I bought it in my name only. They have no clue if my wife works or stays at home.

To get straight to the point, They do not know that I am without a car. I drove the Camry there this morning. They know nothing about my personal life or how many vehicles I own. I never went in screaming I dont have a car.

 

Not sure where you are in Georgia but I just "ordered" a 2021 TRD OR AC from Capital Toyota in Chattanooga. Salesman was Brandon Painter 423.799.3341.

It supply/demand.. With limited supply, I don't think getting invoice price is going to happen anymore. And most popular state going to pay at least MSRP.

Exactly even if you sell to Carvana for more, it’s a wash as you end up spending more than you would have pre craziness new. It’s a sellers market, not a buyers on any front. Even my moms 2 year old JLU rubi is worth almost what she paid for it in 2018. And that’s a used Jeep.
