The amount of cars that are having issues because of this recall is pretty small, their neglecting the few to sell to the many here. Its a shit business plan from a customer stand point, but if they have to stop production of the trucks to supply all the toyotas that need the pump then they loose more money.

I have the recall on my truck, and have no issues. I may down the road have a failure, but I may also never have a failure.

So are you saying that no one has gotten this issue fixed yet, that everyone is still waiting on them to figure this out? Boeing is faster than that. If that is true it puts this in a different light.

Correct, there is no fix right now as toyota is still working on one. No one has gotten a repair, they cant even put the same model pump in, if the pump fails and its part of the recall, you have to wait till the new parts are created.

That's exactly my point. U know in your mind what you would feel is fair and justified. Go in there and tell them that. Be firm don't take any less. That's it, that's my whole point.

That's different. One is nature. The other is willful decisions ( materials, suppliers, etc). They made a decision they thought would pay off, it didn't, time to pay the Piper! Haha

At least my insurance has been giving me 15% back each month.

Again, that's fine if that's the way you feel. I guarantee if my truck was affected, I wouldn't be making a payment until it was fixed with no affect on my credit score. I paid for Toyota reliability and everything that comes with it. I held up my end of the agreement, time for a multi million dollar company to hold up theirs :)

Yeah, they said since no one can go anywhere, we are going to give everyone 15% back on their insurance. Its with allstate. I think in the first 3 months of lockdown I did maybe 200 miles.

Then you will be out of a vehicle and ruin your credit to boot. Not a good plan.

I was a service manager at a equipment dealer for several years and we had men all the time that thought they were all that. They would demand a firm price so I would give it to them, when the work came in cheaper than expected guess which price they payed. The women were a little easier but wanted to sure they weren't getting taken advantage of, they didn't ask for a firm price just a fair deal guess which price they paid. Normally they came out better in the end. We were not in the habit of taking advantage of our customers we wanted them back, we couldn't keep up with the work load.

But I get your point too.

Technically his life insurance (if he had it) would cover that, along with a lawsuit against the chute company, then the chute companys insurance would pay also.

I'd take the rental and tell them I need a truck for one reason or another and put the miles on it while my Tacoma sits not getting miles or wear and tear .
