    The best advice I can give you is to spend some time perusing the Suspension forum; the search box in the upper right hand corner of the screen for finding topics on questions you may have. Suspension upgrade has a wide range of options depending on what you're looking for. So, the "heard anything good about this here thing" question is a little broad and vague, given the variety of options. Though, if you've already accepted the $2500-ish price tag, thats at least one less obstacle for you to overcome. Good luck and ask more specific questions, which haven't already been asked to death, and many folks on here will be happy to chime in. Good luck and welcome!

    Welcome to TW. Suspension is not a one size fits all since it's dependent on many different variables. Tire size? lift size? off road or on road usage? extra added weight from armor, bedrack, etc..? Highly recommend calling Headstrong Offroad and they can better direct you on lift combos for your specific needs and setup. $2500 is alot of money to blindly spend on something you may be disappointed in that's non-refundable.

    I have posted questions on the suspension forum without getting a reply. I have an 05 2WD double cab prerunner. I mostly use the truck for weekend trips and towing. I love the truck but my main complaint is the ride quality. I put new Moog shocks on the front and KYB on the rear. It rides a little better but it still bounces around way to much and is choppy as hell on dirt roads. I would be willing to spend some money to improve the ride quality. Would OEM Bilsteins be my best bet? I can't imagine all Tacoma's ride as poorly as mine, any advice is appreciated.

    Bilsteins would be an drastic upgrade over your current shocks. Rear leafs definitely need to be replaced if it's original. Any lift and what type of tires along with psi ?

    Are you looking to lift your truck or just want overall better ride quality? If your looking for both I'd suggest 3rd gen suspension. You get back the oem ride quality with a 1inch lift to the front and maybe a 0.5in lift to the back if you still have the old 2+1 leaf and swap it out for the newer 3+1 leaf. I've seen them on sale everywhere so they're cheap, check out your local area first.

    It is stock suspension. The rear leaf springs were replaced under recall. I bought the truck with 120K and it had the original Bilsteins. I thought putting any new shocks would help improve the ride quality. I am going to spend the money on new oem Bilsteins.

    Adjustable Bilstein 5100s. Type of tires (MT or AT) along with psi will also affect ride quality.

    I'm not trying to lift it. I just want better ride quality. I go on long trips and my wife and I bounce all over the place. It's uncomfortable.

    Cut & broke off stuff. Prolific ziptie and tape usage.
    @LoadingtAco
    Looks like a nice setup as long as you dont weight it down too much with winch, steel bumper, etc. I really like the ride of 6112 on my 4Runner.

    @Rsmallw2
    I had OME shocks, Dakar leaf packs, and OME 885 coils on a 05 prerunner access cab. Was way too stiff.

    Same setup on 4x4 double cab weighted down with aftermarket skids rode fine. (Literally the same parts, i swapped them over.)

    Cheapest option might be for you to get Bilstein 5100 shocks all around on stock springs set at stock height to see how you like them. See if someone local has oem rear springs in good shape to swap out for your worn ones. Or maybe someone local to you has full oem suspension.

    If you were closer, id offer mine stupid cheap. Full oem suspension (assembled front bilstein shock/spring, rear springs & shocks, and upper control arms) from 2015 double cab that was removed with only 11k miles on it.

    Depending on how rough the condition of the dirt roads you're driving are, maybe even looking into Bilstein 6112(front) and 5160(rear). The 5100's are a step up from OEM bilstein, and then the 6112's are a step up from 5100's. Alot of people go to the 6112 because you gain ride quality on washboard fire roads, and surfaces of the sort. What the others have said about buying a takeoff 3rd get setup is also not a bad idea. Definitely getting the most bang for the buck, as far as performance gained versus money spent by finding a low mileage 3rd gen take-off setup.
