I never use my AC. People think I'm crazy, but I drive a 4 cylinder. I need every single HP I can get. Sometimes, it's windows up and no AC in the summer time. Yes, it's hot, but I survive.

I barely use my AC as well. I like my windows open even when its scorching hot.

I was with you until you said doors off. I'm personally not a fan, but understand lots of people are (jeeps), but I'm also sure if toyota were to offer more it would be at a huge markup. Hell, look at the price difference and "market adjustments" dealers are putting on between the OR and Pro.

Most definitely was a stretch. The worst idea by far. I was just trying to brainstorm anything they could do to specialize in a particular market which is clearly not how big business works. Learn something new everyday lol

With a front locker. Pros should definitely have front lockers.

Also this...toyota has no incentive to change anything really.

I see it as a two pronged approach that will slow any evolution of the tacoma.

    1. They still sell a bunch of these things
    2. Toyota has to uphold its reliability and resale brand its developed which means anything that comes to market will be thoroughly researched and tested so it doesn't ruin the reliability, and changes will be slow to uphold the resale values...look at all the other brands who constantly do a whole new re-design every few years. Once that redesign hits your old vehicle significantly drops in value.

I love halo vehicles. Those expensive, factory modded vehicles that dealers put on their floors to drive traffic so they can sell a lower trim.Toyota has nothing like that. And to keep their dominance on the mid size market, I think they should. Maybe that's how Pros function, IDK. I've always thought Pros should be better equipped. AT LEAST go with a larger, more aggressive tire! Anytime there is a comparison video, the Tacoma struggles due to the tires.

Not saying re-design or change anything in what you have going on right now. I understand they sell a lot of them. lol

My local dealer does do something like that! They partner with RSG offroad and the 4 runners and tacos sit right in front of the entrance. Sliders, skids, lifts, wheels and tires. 10k market adjustment LOL

You do not get enough for your money with the TRD Pro IMO. I was interest in one until I found out its an Off Road with a scoop and sun roof.

If I'm gonna spend nearly 50K for the highest level TRD Pro, I want lifted suspension, at least 33's like what come on a Rubicon, and some sort of drivetrain or powertrain option I cannot get in any other trim. I want to be much different than the others and to me it isn't.

My AC stays on lol. 100 degrees and 100% humidity can be very compelling. Also, in south GA, if you have your windows down and stop at an intersection for 3 seconds, you will be swarmed by 1,200 gnats. :annoyed:

It's tempting to move north, just to get away from the gnats and love bugs.

Posts like this miss the point of why Toyota trucks have an allure, in my opinion.

Simple, rugged, utilitarian, and reliable. Theoretically.

It's different than how people like jeeps. People buy these "outdated" trucks because that's how they like them. Look at 4Runner sales for how it's equipped. More people have crossed over into "lifestyle" trucks and then wonder why a work truck like the Tacoma isn't "luxurious." I have power windows now in my truck, and I feel like I'm in a Rolls Royce!

I'd rather Toyota focus on reliability and fuel efficiency on future trucks, and let the aftermarket support the off road needs of that particular consumer. Leave off the BS.
