I convinced my husband to get a Tacoma over an F-150. I mean, I like the look of the Tacoma more than most trucks, but it was more of a practicality thing for me too.

I am in a few groups on FB where it's just women with Tacomas, and while there are women who off-road, the main demographic is just women who want to be different, really. Kinda the same women who daily Wranglers. Lots of "What cheap mods can I do that'll make the truck mine" versus performance. Not trying to be critical or anything, just what I've picked up from a lot of women.
For instance, someone asked how to plastidip on there, and I did a step by step tutorial and the next day everyone was posting up their pink and purple emblems o_O

Now, if you've got tits and the money to build a rig, all you gotta do is make an Instagram and go to a national park every now and again and BOOM you're an influencer, lmao.

I hate articles that post the conclusions with zero data, especially conclusions that came from statistical analysis.

Is it as the article implies, that the majority of 2020 Tacoma buyers are female?

Or is it the much more likely "the majority of females that purchase a pickup truck are purchasing a Tacoma"?

Edit: I found my own answer.

That means that 16% of female pickup owners drive a tacoma vs 15% of male pickup owners, which does NOT necissarily mean that female Tacoma owners physically outnumber male Tacoma owners.

Still, its cool to see a broader appeal.

    Like, so many.
I actually always thought a midsize truck would be good for moms. You pick up your kid from practice and just toss the smelly sports gear in the truck bed rather in the back of the SUV or minivan. Show a female taking it out to go hiking, loading it up with vintage furniture. The tagline could be, "Because you're not that kind of soccer mom." It obviously can't hold as many kids, but for smaller families, it seems to be a good option.

I’ve wanted a Tacoma for about 10 years and it finally happened ($$$)! Maybe women can afford them better now...? Not sure :notsure:

Actually not a bad thought. Plus I do the same thing with my camping gear. I don't want that stuff inside smelling like it does after a week.

I can definitely see how the truck appeals to everyone. I did let my ex drive it once because she really liked it. Took her all of 30 seconds to find the one deep ditch in the area and almost drive into it. Nobody gets to drive it anymore.

TY for doing the research, men probably outnumber women in the pickup truck buyer category 100 to 1, so that skews the story dramatically.

:anonymous:. Guilty. Has been a little over a month since it was teetering on the literal edge. Good times. I can still see that low oil/shut off engine light. Most of the time it's just bombing down backroads to new camping spots
