UCA question

I have a leveling kit. I can feel it "walk" at approx. 75+ miles an hour. A person that has not been on this forum probably would not even notice it. I have OEM UCA's on at this time.

Question: Mechanically is anything at risk and/or wear?

Yes...It is the leveling kit in my avatar. I bought it a couple years ago before I had ever heard of Tacoma World.

YotaDan, have you had any comments positive/negative about the Camburg's Replacement UCA's that use the OEM parts? I called you the other day about them. I am seeing if Santa thinks I was good or not. I am still up in the air about which UCA's.

The Balljoint UCAs are nice, because you still get the same Caster fix, and a little more travel similar to the Uni-ball arms. But you don't have to deal with the Squeaking that the UCAs can have. You can either re-use your factory ball-joint, or we offer some New Moog replacements as well.

Just a bit of a tight fit when pressing them into the arms. But they work really well.

 

Unless you need the added strength? (Doing desert runs or hard core offroading?) I would go with the Light Racing UCA's.

Here's why:

If you look at TC, Camburg, Allpro, etc... (They are all good UCA's) But only the LR's seem to address the differential in height of the spindles.

LR UCA's on a lift sits almost flat. The other all have servere angles. (BUT! Considering that the stock suspension is also at that angle, it might not be that big of a deal)

But the LR's are affordable, and have a wide range of adjustment. And they can be purchased for less than $400.

Just my 2 cents.

They are all good, and they all serve their design purpose.
Just things to consider.

The uniball stuff is great but it's main purpose is for racing. I would go with the lr's!

 

To answer your PS... I am very happy with my Bight Right UCAs and they are prices very well right now.

 

Never answered the question about the lift of the leveling kit.

It was a 3" lift.

 

Looks like it is an all top-spacer kit too.
I would recommend getting rid of that, and running some 5100s or something.
