it just goes to show just how much weight all that extra armor weighs! It also says something for those that are armored and have a full bed buildout

Weight is the only reason I haven’t pulled the trigger on a hc rear bumper (and I really don’t “need” one). And yes a mild interior build is in the planning stage but like has been stated these things can and will get heavy quick and do I really want to swap suspension again

All my rigs are purpose built. From crawling to camping. I also enjoy a nice stock truck for what that’s worth. Toyota’s are the jam!
Well you have convinced me to gas up and grab the dog and see where I am after it’s all on there.
Would hate to buy a set of 1k springs and figure out I need an extra leaf ;)

if you decide to add a rear swing-out you will get up there quick. I am sure that added big time. Also larger e rated tires, full skids and sliders. That is probably the big difference for you. If I drop my skids, sliders and rear swingout I would prob be 600lbs lighter haha (just a guess but skids alone are 2xxlbs. )

the HC rear should not be too bad. at least on 2nd gens. Teh stock one with tow hitch is pretty heavy. Its adding the swingout, gas tanks, gas, and heavy tires that kill it.

yah thats what I have been trying to avoid. Talked with a ton of people that got the stg 3 or event a full pack based on a guesstiment only to have to add a leaf or have Deaver redo it.

I already have sliders and e rated tires including the spare although they are 32". I actually fell like mine is light compared to some. But ya full steel skids, a bed build, hc bumper with swing out and you've added a bunch of weight and is exactly the reason I weigh in at what I do. Again my weight at 6000 lbs is not loaded to camp and no extra passengers just me. Hell I could stand to shave some weight off of me and lighten the load lol.

yah man I wish i could get to 6k ha. I bet the truck would feel awesome with 1k lbs shed off but I dont see how I could do that unless it goes to a less expo style rig.

Totally understand. I deal in much different terrain than you guys do so the full skids just aren't on my radar.

totally but even with full skids you can go 1/8, 3/16, 1/4 and there is also the option for aluminum for the lighter overland builds. right now I have 1/4" and considering going with a lighter. I want protection but I do not need the beefiest of skids. Really depends on how much lighter it will be. I could prob shave 100lbs by going with a lighter setup.

Still so curious about this middle-of-nowhere sighting. Anyone got a clue? Maybe this person isn't even on TW...

It wasn't @4wdExplorer - they were flipping AALs in their garage.
I can't remember who else has a white on white setup.

If it was totally white 2nd gen Tacoma. Check rollout date July 11.
