On average, I get somewhere between 12-14 mpg over the course of a full tank. Usually leaning more towards the 12. It depends on how much freeway driving I've done. Mileage gets shittier the more I drive in town. I calculate it every tank. I did see 15+ mpg on a longer freeway trip with the AC off once. That is a rarity though.

You will need to tap and weld a bung or a clamp. the weld on tends to better IMO just depends where your at. If you are doing dual you will want to do it in the Y before the 2nd cat which will need weld on. I tried to use a bung. Some people only run one at the collector. I am running 1 on the drivers side as I plan to switch to dual eventually.

Not sure you would need a 3rd but I guess you could run the 2 and the collector to go balls out. I think folks have noted innovate only for the AFR not for the boost.

yah I calculate each fill up to and have a hypertech speedo corrector so its not perfect but closer to what it should be. Around town I get utter shit for MPGs. Even trying to not lead foot it any boost kills it. 8-10 range. I got 11.8 mpg so prob 12 on a long slow drive to Tahoe and back. but big factors for me are the sheer weight of the truck and my tires. Even then I tend to run into other folks getting better MPG with equally heavy truck so who knows. its just gotten progressively worse. it was bad before the S/C but my plugs were toast so prob not helping me much. so far the S/C has reduced it further. Smiles per gallon right? I still think there is something thats not right although the truck seems to drive fine.

I don't have a lot of excess weight. The tires seem to be the biggest factor. I'm running 285/60/18 Terra Grappler G2's. When I put those things on, I immediately saw a drop in mileage. They're heavy and wide. Significantly wider than the same size Yokohama Geolandar A/T's that they replaced.

I would agree there. When i went with 285/70/17 and a lift I went to 14 with not much else besides a camper shell and sliders.

Added a bunch of metal and saw 16 mpg on a trip

last year I added swingout 315/70/17 some more crap and saw 14 mpg on a trip last year.

Since then I basically added the S/C and would be lucky to get 12 mpg. I was hoping the extra power would help keep the truck from struggling as much. It does to some extent but its drinking a lot more than it used to.

In a couple months I will be removing my shell, bed setup at least so I will prob shed 4-500lbs. Similar weight will come back but it will be interesting to see how much that affects mpgs. I may strip all my skids and remove my spare to see how much it affects. That would easily be 5-700lbs roughly guessing. Still puts me over 6k lbs but its a start. if its really just the weight then so be it but similar trucks getting better it seems although not by much.

Need to find some D rated tires. Everything is C or E.

I saw 16mpg once. With only highway driving. In warm weather. On a completely and totally flat road. Going 57mph.

My wife thinks I'm the only one OCD enough to calculate mileage on every tank, in every car. Can't wait to tell her I'm not alone!

All you guys are making me happier with my whopping 17 MPG average since I bought the truck ~4.5 years ago. o_O

To me it is very adequate. It (grey) is off by just a hair, but for me there was no need to make it exact. And I’m pretty anal when it comes to stuff like that.

I still average 17 but with no real added weight or armor unless you count a mighty TRD skid plate

Does any one have any good photos of a ported trd/mag superchager. I took my spare unit apart and I see some places that can be made a whole lot better but that long as intake tube kinda kills it and the opening just before it goes into the intercooler

oh and the v channle it not full blown v shaped like normal superchargers.

I've got a write up and some pics of what I did to mine in my build thread.

    https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/todaywasthedays-canadian-supercharged-stick-shift-taco.681826/

I researched a ton of pics of m90 and other style chargers but I never found a single pic of our mp90. Most variants aren't cast like our mp90 so the rotor inlet could be hogged out where ours is limited due to wall thicknesses. People have fucked up their SC's by opening the outlet too much, especially if the inlet can't be opened so I conservatively opened up my outlet at the rotors and very, very slightly opened up the inlet at the rotors.

And like you said there's not much to be done with that whole inlet tube.

I saw what ya did you kinda just sanded it. I do alot of head porting the part I don't fully under stand is the wave on the out let it not a perfect v but again the in take pipe on this thing is weak so maybe that's why it is there. best to chop it off and move the throttle body to the left bank.

It's not a perfect v and I don't know how much it matters when it forces the air straight sideways towards the intercooler. Other m90's tend to have holes to the side of the v that people open up or widen the v to those holes. I did open up the v probably 3-4 mm and there is a 3-4 mm ridge underneath the left side of the v outlet that I knocked off. Thin wall thicknesses are a danger everywhere else, especially on the inlet at the rotors. I did round off the profile into the runners but it would be brutal to try to open up the runners themselves.

It's really a pain working around the v through the opening. A tiny right angle grinder of some sort would help tons.

I agree that chopping the whole intake tube and reworking where the throttle body is located would be best if one is capable

i dont want to know mileage. it would just encourage the sale of the truck.

i agree with this with the looking ive done. id see more gain in polishing like it was a 2 stroke port chamber. smooth= increased flow.

Ha yah I mainly look at the drop in mpg as another possible issue anytime to TW is a drastic change. It would be nice to be higher but mainly want to make sure it’s not a bigger issue
