We all agreed before going down that it was undoubtedly the dumbest thing we had done all week. Except Jake, it was somehow the second dumbest thing he had done. Though, there was no clarification given as to what was dumber.

I did a fall solo Red Cone run years ago where there was a left over bit of snow just below the peak on the descent and I thought I was crazy for driving down/through the few inches of crusty, lingering snow.

Y'all have some huge stones for going down that. I carry chains for such surprises... not sure I'd have tried it without.

Especially since with all the red cone traffic the last section is basically a bob sled shoot these days even without snow.

Went over Ophir to Telluride on Saturday morning. Left Telluride and took Imogene up to where bridge was supposed to be closed but wasn't... Made it to the Summit. Last set of switch backs had deep snow but we made it up. Hung around for a bit and then headed down to Ouray for dinner. My first time in this part of Colorado. My wife and I were solo and had a good day.

Southside of Imogene just before the summit. This picture is just below on Imogene.

There wasn't any snow on Ophir left. Just a bit at the summit.

People with more knowledge than me were already predicting the brown from Drought, that is what causes the Brown. Snow just makes them fall.

yea there's predictions/schedules etc... nothing beats actual status updates though. sounds like with the southern drought shit's all messed up with the south coming early...

good to have a good general idea of south, central, north based on where they're starting to turn...

from what i saw last weekend, central is still another week at least away from showing colors.

Things were changing up towards Wyocolo a couple of weeks ago, not that too many people get up that way. Felt like we watched it happen overnight. Nothing vibrant, but yellow leaves were present on oak brush and popples by the time we left camp.
