Np, a friend has had the same combo - Bilstein 6112 /5160 w Wheelers 3 leaf AALs/OLs on his second Gen for years. No issues and he is very satisfied.

well that pretty much sums it up for me. Guess I’ll go 3AAL until I’m either unhappy with it or have cash to get a full pack

Any thoughts on WOR 700# springs instead of 650s? Should i go one setting less than the 650s or are they comparable?

I went with the Eibach 700# set at 6/5 and couldn't be happier. I do have about 150# of added winch and bumper though. A great upgrade over the 600# and gave me back the lost height from the extra weight

Go full leaf pack. I did the same exact thing you are trying to do and it was useless. If you're constantly carrying weight get rid of the stock leaf pack ASAP. You're going to be throwing money and time down the drain if you put a band-aid on that stock leaf pack with an AAL. If you weren't often carrying weight around the AAL would be fine, but you will be disappointed with a 3-leaf AAL if you're 200-300lbs regular. Been there, done that.

You will be much happier with the end result and won't regret it once it's done. The Icon RXT is a nice pack but very pricey. I've been completely happy with my OME leafs and haven't had any issues. Very rare to ever hit bump stops even with RTT & full camping payload in the back. I've heard good things about the All Pro packs as well.

I’m looking at the 6112 combo for a 2nd gen and am a little confused.
The 5160 is paired with it in packages and a new Dakar leaf pack. The shop i use says the 5160 are too short for a new leaf pack and to use the extended 5100 or 5125/b110

so ifthat is the case how come the standard package is 6612/5160 and the Dakar leaf pack?

The first generation 5160's were a little shorter, but then the second generation ones came out, are 3/4" longer than the first generation ones, and they have the same articulation numbers as the OME rear shocks that are made to work with the DAKARS. I have the 5160's and I have had them with both the medium and now the heavy DAKARs and never had any issues at all.

Yep I run my 5160's with Dakars and haven't had any issues. I assume mine are 1st gen since they came alongside the 5-clip 6112's. No idea, though.

The difference between the first gen 5160's and the second gen 5160's is a matter if serial numbers not the clips or the trucks themselves. They only made the 1st generation ones for one year (the first year) for all vehicles. The 2nd gen tacomas had the 5 clip and the 3rd gen tacomas still had the 6 clip. The second year or (2nd gen 5160's) the extended the articulation length by 3/4" for all vehicles to respond to more lifted applications. They one ones that don't have the same numbers as the OME rear struts are the ones that were made the very first year the 5160's came out.

Yes, on the 3rd gens (2016+) the driverside is set on 6 and the passenger is set on 5. This accounts for the taco lean.

Thanks! I've been reading a lot of threads and figured that might be the reason. A lot of information to take in for new tacoma owners. They seem to have more quirks than the standard f150!
