Anyway, brand new 2020 and a couple weeks ago .. After the truck had been parked in the shop for just 3-4 days ... Was horrified to pop the hood and find a nest already going on.
(I live in the Boonies... Mice/Pack Rats are a constant problem here no matter what. I've spent countless hours/$$ fixing stuff all on different rigs...)
So I found this stuff for sale online. (Wally World) Got '4 Stars' ... So I ordered some.
Supposed to STINK and drive rodents away. (ALL 'Natural' which I really could care less about..) As long as it works.
After hosing the wiring and rubber parts down with it, I was pretty surprised it didn't STINK as much as I thought it was gonna. It actually has a nice 'Peppermint' smell.
So, who of you has tried this stuff? Does it works as good as the mfg says it does? Thoughts?

Probably contains peppermint oil. I use peppermint oil on cotton balls during the winter to keep the critters away from our motorcycles; works great.

I put peppermint oil soaked cotton balls under the engine cover of my wife's Mazda, because the mice LOVE to nest under that damn thing. It doesn't
last as long under there due to the heat, but still keeps them at bay.

I'm guessing Rodent Defense is diluted, so you may want to reapply it every couple of months.

Don't know if this stuff works or not, but I hear coyote urine is the way to go. Just spray a perimeter around your truck and no rodent will dare get near it :D

Joking aside (although that probably would work), I'm curious if this works as well. Wife and I parked our car at the trail head of a backpacking trail some years ago, only to come back to chewed up brake lines and about $1,200 in damage several days later. Porcupine! Left a few nice quills behind just so there was no doubt about the perp! Ever since I cringe a little and am a little anxious about leaving our vehicles parked out in the middle of nowhere while we're roughing it.

You got it .... Peppermint oil was the #1 ingredient... Had some other stuff in it like red/white pepper and some other stuff. As long as it WORKS, it's priceless, right? LOL!!
I've spent too much time & $$ fixing rodent-repair over too many years, on a dozen different rigs. I was not about to let mice/rats eat my brand new truck...;)

Peppermint is supposedly a rodent deterrent.

But then how do you deal with the cat problem?

I'm actually dealing with this right now. One of my cars sits under a cover next to my house and last weekend I found rat droppings and paw prints all over the engine and inside it (it has no side-windows). I met with a Pest Control guy earlier today at my house. He put-out some bait traps but also said to spread some Cayenne Pepper around the perimeter of my garage also he said human hair works to deter them as well.

I don’t have issue with my cars but had rat in garage. Tried everything. Had guy come out and the old school rat traps/ with peanut butter works 100%

The walk the plank traps are the best ones I’ve ever used. Before I got the cats I was catching 1-3 a night

Try putting one of these next to your truck, they work great.

I tried that method too, but I kept forgetting to take the cats out from under the hood in the morning

kidding. I don’t park in my garage it’s full of toys and a gym. My dog is a mouse, possum, rabbit, squirrel and raccoon chasing machine. Also deer and he really wanted to get after a bison at a state park walk...He caught a fish one night when we were campingby one of my fishing club lakes...He’s running around with something silver in his mouth, when I grabbed him he had a crushed up small bass wtf. Think he’s dingo chupacabra mix or something. He’s crazy.

I work on forklift and see this all too often in warehouses. I've put bait on the frame rails when they're going to be sitting. Nibble nibble and no more rodent, they'll run off and die.

I just buy cat food so the neighboring farm cats come over. Had a mole problem. Put out some good cat food and a few days later food and moles were gone.
