    That's surprising. No issues on any of my hardware, ever. If it bothers you Jnull, just contact BD and they'll make it right with new hardware.

    It’s a fact of the matter thing. No I’m sure it isn’t but I believe they’re aware their products are used in environments other then warm dry ones.

    I obviously didn’t buy it for the hardware but for the money it cost rusting after only a few days shouldn’t be a concern.

    Hi Jnull,

    I apologize that your hardware is rusting. This should NOT be happening because it's stated from our supplier that it is stainless steel. But obviously that's not the case for you. I spoke to my technical support and sales department and there's been no open reports of our 3/8 hardware rusting. I'm trying to think of all possibilities but would there be any chance the bolts were sitting somewhere where metal fragments would've landed on them (metal spraying from a grinding wheel)? Regardless, I'm more than happy to send out a new hardware set today.

    Just to confirm before I connectorize my homemade harness, for the S2 pro is this the correct polarity for the male weatherpack mating connector?

    A - Ground
    B - Hot (12 V) switched

    Could not easily find this information on website.

    Sorry if it wasn't clear. I have a loose 2-pin male weatherpack connector, terminals are labeled "A" and "B". Please confirm that the hot wire goes into "B".

    BD uses some different colored wires so there's a quick guide

    Thanks. I built and ran the harness already, just need to connectorize the end that plugs into the light. My friend has the proper crimp tool at his work, I am going there tomorrow morning.

    Yes

    Ground = A
    Hot = B

    The real beauty comes in with three wire applications since ground is A, hot is B and control is C. This puts the main 12V hot in the middle of the bundle and with more protection than the other two. I'd have to guess that this isn't a lucky accident since every other part of the light is equally well planned out.

    If you do any bit of electrical work it’s worth the money to get some crimpers and de-pinning tools. Weatherpack connectors are my favorite, so easy to work with.

    Ha! I'm an electrical engineer. I saw a weatherpack kit for $350 on Amazon here in Canada, didn't want to spend that kind of money but who knows what I'll buy on Black Friday!

    All you need is the crimp and de-pinning tool, like $30 bucks. I made all my wire harnesses which was quite a bit with those and basic electrical tools without wishing I had anything more.

    Does anybody have output shots of the different beam patterns for the XL Sports being mounted on the hood hinges? I'm debating on what beam pattern to get for that spot.

    Bought a cheap weatherpack crimper from Jeff Bezos because my friend with the proper tool had to fly out unexpectedly. Light is bright as the sun! Thanks to all for the help to confirm the polarity because I was too cheap to buy the de-pinning tool!

    Thanks also to Paul of Baja Designs, who was amazing about sending me the connector I needed - practically overnight to Canada!

    Looking for longer throw down the dark night roads but don't want to do a bar or something big. I already have the Squadron pros Driving combo and like the near/mid field and periphery light it give. I want more light "out there" while keeping in the Squadron series (for their small size). Am I better off with another set of the Squadron Pro using the spot pattern, or the Squadron Racer?

    As an aside. How is it that the Racer is less powered yet gets out farther? Is is just reflectors or is something else different about it?

    You want racers or lasers.
