I lost the trailer harness off my rear bumper during a minor fender bender. I purchased a replacement and although the new receiver has a diagram on the outside panel, the wires coming from the truck to plug in absolutely do not match up with any wiring diagram on the internet, including those pictures posted elsewhere on this forum. Attached is a picture of the wiring harness coming off of my truck, notice that there is no Brown, red, yellow wire. There is a white, light blue, purple wire (all thin) and a darker blue, black, white/black strip and green in a thicker gauge wire. The White/black strip has a larger connector so that's the only one I know where to plug in. I called the dealer and they were no help, they said that they didn't know what the different colors of thee wires represented, they couldn't look at one for me since it is a $1400 harness and they don't keep it in stock, and there was no way of knowing short looking at another Tacoma. I posted a picture of the wires coming off my truck, and the diagram on the cover of the adapter. Does anyone out there have a picture of how their wires attach to the receiver on a 7 pin receiver?

You know what the wires are supposed to do, you can trace them. e.g., turn on the running light, then see which is on.
