265/75r16 without lift question (newbie alert)

Hi there,
Super long time lurker and admirer of all things Tacoma. I recently traded in my '07 Jeep JK for a '19 Tacoma SR5 DCSB. I love this thing and it's so nice to be back in a Toyota again.

My question: The truck has the stock 245/75 r16's on it and I know from my searching here that the 265/75's will technically fit without any suspension mods or lift/leveling. What I'm curious about is if folks feel like the 265/75 feels too "stuffed" into the wheel well without any sort of lift or if it looks fine left simply stock? My main concern is that there's some room to breath between the tire and the wheel well, from an aesthetic standpoint. I like seeing a little space and a tire that doesn't seem crammed in there, just not sure if that is realistic in a 265/75 without at least a 2/1 level.

I'm considering the 265/70 or the 265/75, probably Falken Wildpeak or the Toyo AT/III. I'm not planning on a lift but would definitely like to get more aggressive on the tread/look and also assist me in the Montana winters.

Thanks @CoTacos! I think I've read almost every 265/75 thread and definitely feel good about them not rubbing if I go that direction. I was more curious about the overall look of them on a non-lifted Taco. I see a ton of Taco's in MT and I'm always checking out tire sizes to compare but they mostly have 265/70's on them so it's hard for me to get a true perspective.

Yeah...unfortunately Stock suspension, just the tires are upsized. Doesn't help that my truck is in front, and the tread pattern makes it look bigger than it is, but in overall diameter alone its not much of a difference.

Thank you! I've checked out so many threads with killer photos but it's hard to get a true perspective sometimes of the fit without seeing it in person. I've seriously considered asking the tire-shop to mount up one of each when I go to purchase just so I can check them out but I'm not sure if they'd be down for that.

I plan on going 265/75/16 on mine - I have the 245s now - stock SR wheels/tires. then maybe like a 1.5-2" lift

 

265/75/16 will look great on the stock suspension.

 

They really do look better than stock.





265/75/16 Goodyear Duratracs on stock new suspension.

There a bit noisy on the road. I do like them, there insanely good off road. I mean there really really good off road. On road there ok.

I am going to put about 20K to 25K on them and I may switch to KO2's. Not sure yet.

 

Do the 265/75/16, they look better and ride better than stock. I put Wildpeaks on my 2020 OR DCLB no regrets.

They look great in my opinion without a lift. Although I wish they were 33s.

Yep that's Hood. Definitely still a good amount of space in there, but fills it up nicer than stock.
