I guess I'm more partial to my 3rd gen. However, I did have a 14 Tacoma and loved it! I know there isn't a strong market for regular cabs anymore, but I sure do wish Toyota would bring back the regular cabin a 3rd gen. I'd hop on board with that in a heartbeat.

Not buying a reg cab in 2012 will be one of my regrets

Well, it's funny. I was just browsing CarFax the other night for sh*ts and giggles. Narrowed down a few reg cab 4WDs. And they are still priced in the low to mid 20s for a reg cab with relatively decent miles. If money wasn't an issue, I'd grab one. But until the ghost of Ed McMahon shows up on my doorsteps with a check for $10 million from Publishers Clearinghouse, guess I'll just have to admire from afar.

I think the 3rd gen looks aggressive and like it a lot. I also feel it looks very similar to a 4Runner. To be honest, I wouldn’t complain if I had any of the classic front ends sitting in my drive way.

    . It got braces.

I owned a Blue 96 4x4 manual it was nice a bit squat and square.

I like the front end of the 3Gen. It looks like a shark once you remove the silly air thing in the front.

LOVE that front grill! This might seem like a dumb question but is it stock or aftermarket? If it's aftermarket... where'd you get it? (I don't care for the wavy/waffly chromed grill on my TRD-OR ...and your grill looks exceptionally sharp.
    Please & Thank you.

It's called the "TRD pro" grill. They range from Chinese knock offs to OEM with prices to match!

Thanks. Google really IS your friend! Amazing how many places ...and prices! I checked the dealer for specs, figuring "for what they want it must be steel or titanium or Adamantium... or something special. Nope. ABS material - like all the others. Found a place with a fair price and decent reviews with the 4-light set-up for about $150. Gonna try them. Also found vendor for the 'TRD' grill logo! Thanks again for the info!!

My first Tacoma (purchased used, after my ford powerstroke broke me) was a 1999 model Black, extra cab. 3.4 TRD off road.

My first toyota truck was a 1994 4x4 pu regular cab 22RE engine. manual hubs and transfer shift. No AC...LOL! I really miss that truck.

Now I'm happy in a 2017 SR 2.7 5 spd. Just turned 30,000. bought new back in February 2017.

Yep. They should have clean up the front of the 3rd Gen a bit for the 2020 refresh. A bit less underbite and a few other small things would have been enough, esp if it help with overhang and approach angle.

In the end, I don't expect anything now until the 4th Gen drops.
