We'll have a driver's meeting before we hit the trail to cover things like; keeping an eye on the rig behind you, spotting/asking for a spot (everyone should take a quick look at this article, it's short but informative: http://www.lastgreatroadtrip.com/4x4-tech/trail-talk/driving-while-blind-the-off-road-spotter/ ), breaks for food/water/facili-trees...

You sure can! Thanks for volunteering.

Copy that - dislike, maybe next time

Most of your questions got answered, but the total length of the 'off-road' section is less than 10 miles. We'll be driving through some residential areas on the way to and from which will also be dirt, but more well maintained.

We'll plan on lunch at the pond. If anyone wants to take lead and plan a group lunch, feel free, I don't mind tossing in a few bucks for a burger or such. I saw somebody mention bringing a grill...otherwise I am just planning to bring a sandwich and some snacks and drinks for myself.

I'm sure we can get you aired back up before departing for home. I've got a compressor, I'm sure others will too, and there's always a gas station as a last resort.

    Thank you!

Maybe my girlfriend will get to try MREs for the first time lol. I can throw down money for grilled foods, or bring some myself if people want. No grill though. Any idea how long the 10 miles will be? Just curious if I should expect 2 hours of driving or like 8.

I've never been through this trail before, but with the number of rigs we've got going, the distance (I just checked it on the map and the trail is just a hair over 7 miles end to end), and accounting for some time working with inexperienced drivers, I'd expect 2-3 hours would give us ample time to get everyone through. Add in an hour or so for lunch, and we 'should' be out of the woods and back on maintained roads by 3pm, I would hope.

add in the guy who arrives 45 min late, the blown tire 1/4 of a mile in, a tree across the trail (I have a saw), everyone stopping to watch a deer take a shit and we will be hitting pavement around dusk.

I just glanced at that article but I have one thing to add in (sorry if it's already in the article). There should only be 1 spotter being used! Ultimately it's your vehicle so you can decide who you want to use as a spotter but if you are not the spotter do not just throw in directions (it gets very confusing to the driver). If you see something just say stop show the spotter and then move on!
