Depends on the trail. Usually 5 average miles to a bottle is my rule of thumb. But if I'm doing the Wasatch crest which is cool and generally downhill, I could half that. If I'm doing the half enchilada which is hot AF and exposed to the elements, I'm grabbing all the water I can.

Osprey Savu is my go to fanny pack. 2 bottles in that and one or two in the frame depending on the bike can get me a long ways and still nothing on my back.

I agree people have to remember different areas have different needs. I’m in Alabama just outside Birmingham and Oak Mtn is my local trail system, the trails are great, but you have to work for them.

It’s still hot and humid here too. Ive never heard anyone bitch about too much water on them comfortably.

Yeah, I've ridden a few trails that are 2 miles long, chunky as all hell and worked as hard as a XC trail 3x as long. Trail quality (distance, grade, terrain) is a def a better consideration than raw distance.

Great after work ride today. Smoke is back, but temps are perfect and leaves are turning.

Anyone have the scoop on older school Norco bikes? Someone local is selling two. Look to be very roughly their entry level. "SIX" "FluidTwo" ??? Maybe 8-10 years old??? Hard to see the crappy pictures. TIA

Me too. If I needed a bike in that travel range, I'd definitely be considering it

Love seeing some Diety man. Thank you for supporting a (local) Idaho company. I had to support your (local) Colorado company too. Love my Yeti.

I have the Diety compound pedals now, but want to get new ones and give these pedals to my son. But I can't decide if I should go with the Black Kat in platinum or the new Deftrap in turquoise. What say you all? Also Diety copperhead in platinum or Renthal or I9 A35 in turquoise for the stem? I love the Renthal because of the odd mounting and shape and I used to ride motocross, but Idaho, but turquoise. And I don't want too much turquoise. That is why my daughter got the turquoise diety grips and I went with the grey. Modding a bike can be just as much fun as a truck. And it is much cheaper. Too a point.

Ohhhhh and yes, I know not to clamp my riser like that any more. That was the first and only time I did that. Really happy it was also the first time using the stand.

I’m a huge Deity fan! Been running their components as long as I can remember. They set the standard in MTB for both customer service and quality components. I’m running the Speedtrap saddle, Skywire bars, Supracush grips and TMAC pedals on my Slash. Even have their valve caps on the bike and Taco :anonymous: Had the Copperhead on my Stache, but it went with the bike when I sold it, because I couldn’t find the Knockblock spacers to swap it out. I also need the adapter for the Slash to run another Copperhead, just haven’t gotten around to it. F’n Knockblock....

Also need to add a splash of color as the Slash is all black everything. Very stealth, but kind of boring. Still debating on which route, color wise, to go.
