Need help finding part number (or aftermarket part) for air intake rubber grommet.

Update: Although I received the parts from a local member, I wanted to update anyone searching for the same parts that you could buy a temporary bushing from Lowes and shim it with rubber/metal washers to make-up the height of the sleeve.


2010 air box that sits on top of the engine. Two 10mm bolts hold the box on through a sleeved rubber grommet. One of the grommets got destroyed due to a seized bolt so I need a replacement. I couldn't find anything on OEM fische. Anyone able to help me locate this part?

Tricky. I don't see that rubber mount as a separate part either.

Since it’s just a rubber isolator, I’m sure you could find a suitable replacement either in the “help” section of oreilys or the plumbing section of Lowes. Off hand it looks similar to shock eye bushings for motorcycle shocks, but IMO a cheaper alternative can be cobbled together from either of the two sources above.

 

I'd be willing to bet you could:

A) Get one from the dealer.
B) Get something that would work from a junk yard pick and pull.

 

Update:

-Toyota said I have to buy the whole air intake assembly
-NAPA couldn't find the part
-No Tacoma's in local junkyards

If anyone is parting a truck out or have an air box lying around, let me know and maybe we can work something out.

If you still have the original steel sleeve, you might be able to rig a bushing by stacking some appropriately sized rubber washers or o-rings. There oughta be a lot of ways to create a workaround.

I have a number of pieces of rubber sheet in various sizes, and a set of old laboratory ware cork borers (like this photo from the random web). I'd probably cut the needed pieces and use a cyanoacrylate superglue to make the needed mount around the original sleeve.

Yup, got a couple grommets stacked for the interim. It doesn't secure it as well since the attaceny point is an open crescent shaped hole and it can still slide out. Good enough for the time being though. Thanks!

I'd be willing to bet that there are MANY Toyota vehicles that use that very same part. You just need to look.

 

I was able to rig something up for the time being. Thanks @GHOST SHIP, sure enough there was a rubber grommet in the plumbing section as part of a kit. It's smaller but has the same inner diameter.

I'll check other vehicles at the pick and pull when I get some free time. I would be curious to see what other toyotas have that part. I'll let ya know what I find @Jimmyh!

 

I would get the one Jason j has just pay the shipping cost or a six pack of beer, they aren't really a part you can buy separate from the complete air intake housing that's why theres not a part #

 

I received the parts (as a gift!) from @Jason J and I want to convey my appreciation for his kindness. His gesture really touched me considering the times we are living in right now. With the riots, fires, pandemic, etc. we could all use a neighbor like @Jason J.
