Good eyes. Costco 2 pack of 14oz. for $5.99. I put that on everything.

 

I would look at this as an opportunity to reupholster these panels and the matching dash panel with a better material. Never cared for the material and it doesn't even look like it is layed down very well. If you want to keep it that way, take the panel out, get it warm, peel it back, and hit it with some 3M Super 77. It will be fine. Don't try to repair it without pulling the panel though, it's just never going to come out right.

 

Mine has the exact thing, also on the passenger side. Why on the passenger side and not the drivers ??? Where you able to repair it ?

 

Once I borrow a heat gun, I'm doing that first. I think since the adhesive already failed reheating and pressing it back won't last. But I'll give that a shot. After that, it will be tiny holes in the backside with adhesive.

 

I wonder if never having a passenger in my ride allowed it to slowly release. My kids sit in the back and it's tinted back there, so those are used and less heat from sun. When I sit in the passenger side, enjoying Tajin on watermelon/fruits, my door is wide open so I never rest my arm on that side.

 

Heat will make it more pliable and perhaps reactivate the glue inside. Hold it down until it cools to stay in that shape.

 

Despite all the people trying to give you hope that you can fix this it rarely works.

Once the old adhesive has failed good luck ever getting different adhesives to get it to stick.

The best solution would be to find a used door panel at LKQ

 

Ok you have a big job ahead of you. I bought a plastic welder from harbor freight for $60.00 to melt the melt over studs. Heat them on the lowest setting and the instant you see the plastic start to move pop the part up and DO NOT LOSE THE PIECE. You need it to weld back on. The biggest pain in the ass is cleaning the old material off because you have to use a stripper that doesn’t eat the plastic. That’s one pic but I can’t find the rest right now. I will dig up more for you.

 

My friend at work owns a 2019 Lexus ES350. The same thing is happening to the b-pillar trim. Probably due to environmentally friendly adhesives.

There are 3 versions of 3-m spray adhesive and 77 is the middle one. My drivers side is lifting also but it’s because I stuck the sides first then the middle so it pulled away.

I’ve done this with bubbling wallpaper and it worked great. I got needles and a good size syringe at Tractor Supply in the section where they have veterinary supplies. I think that the syringe and a 5 pack of needles was around 15 bucks. The needles come in different diameters, make sure that you get ones that have a large enough opening for your glue to come through.
