I appreciate you looking out. But my main thing is this. I have cash in the bank. But I want to finance one (interest rates are cheap) so I can use that cash to add suspension, wheels, tires, etc. To accomplish this it has to be thru a dealer or less than 150k miles. My bank will only finance a car with less than 150k miles. Unless ya'll know a bank that would.

One popped up on FB in Charlotte for $7500. I asked for the VIN, then he changes the price to $8700. Says it's 1 owner, always dealer maintained blah blah blah. The Carfax revealed that was a lie! :D
Two owners and serviced at a local shop. Not that there's anything wrong with that, but that's not what the ad says. Plus it spent it's first few years in New Jersey. No thanks!

Mine is financed through navy federal, no mileage limitation. I don’t spend my hard cash, borrowing is too cheap.

Credit unions are based on a membership. You must qualify for membership based on various methods. I qualified for membership with Navy Federal Credit union based on family being military. Some credit unions will allow you to apply for a loan without membership but you will have to join once the loan or product is approved. Some credit unions will allow you to pay a fee by joining an organization of some sort to gain membership if you don’t qualify by any other method.

I worked in credit unions for 7 years in SC.

I think I joined NFCU by paying a $5 fee to some charity they support. That was back in like 2009 though.

Is there a reason you didn't run the subfloor perpendicular to the base layer? I'm not a flooring guy but it makes sense to me to keep the squeaks down later in life.

Not a flooring expert either but i am still in the process of tearing out the particle board underlayment(goes on top of subfloor) I don’t think it makes a difference which direction the underlayment goes but I will be overlapping the joints of the subfloor more compared to how the original install was that is offset only 4” from the subfloor. My plan is to have the subfloor joints in the middle of the underlayment plywood I will be laying down.

Maybe one of the advantages of an old house, my sub floor is 2x10s running diagonally to the floor joists.

Thats how my grandmothers old house is. Its wild now that I am doing work on it how different things were built back in the 50's. Like when 2x4's measured 2"x4".

They are/were much less air tight than new homes. But use actual wood that will dry if wet vs plywood that get's destroyed.
