    Rust is definitely a thing.

I've kinda just got over the fact that things are gonna rust. These vehicles aren't going to last long enough for any kind of rust to actually compromise the structural integrity of your armor/racks, as long as you're diligent about hitting it soon with some rust arrestor and primer/paint.

I live in San Diego in a very salt atmosphere where I've seen rust form on steel after like a day or two of exposure. I've stopped worrying about it.

Going to say Prinsu - I don’t have one but considering I checked the Gobi and Martin website, I didn’t see and access cab 3rd gen option for a rack so that leaves prinsu for us AC guys.

Funny just how many racks are out there that are a blatant rip off of the Prinsu.... I wanted something that would still be easy to put things like a Kayak on if I wanted to so went with the Prinsu. There were on sale at Truck Brigade the other day for $800/free shipping.

It's...three laser/waterjet cut aluminum flats, and some 8020 crossbars. How many different ways do you really think they could skin that cat?

I bought the Prinsu cab rack and top rack for my shell. Had issues with the top rack fitting. Prinsu was little help. I ended up spending another $180 on Sherpa's adjustable mounting feet to make it work. The mounting feet that came with the rack ruined a pair of rails on the shell. My fault for trying to make it fit. They forgot to add another item I ordered twice. Cancelled it and got a refund. Prinsu customer service sucks!! Sherpa was awesome and they have racks too.

Well instead of blatantly ripping off someone else's design they could come up with something that's not a carbon copy....or just build something else. Same thing with the Southern Style Offroad slim line bumper, has to be 10 copy's of that out there now. It just wouldnt even occur to me to do that but obviously lots of people sleep just fine riding others ideas.

FWIW, Prinsu did start the design trend. And as often happens others followed behind and improved on it.

UpTop improved on nearly every aspect from design, style, functionality, and options, to customer service. In summary, they built a better mousetrap. At a co$t of course.

I bought the Bravo and while the quality was great, I didn’t care for the style as much once I saw it on MY truck. It sold super quick. I held out for the long wait time for a Gobi and am happy I did.

+1 for Martin Offroad roof racks

It was $680 shipped to Hawaii. It would've been $950+ shipped if I went with Prinsu.

Thanks! I’m going to order one today. Now light bar cutout or not, that’s the question.

I was part of the original Martin thread that got closed. He said he used the Prinsu as inspiration. He also added an extra tie down hole and used smaller spacers to have it sit a little lower(I could never get the people bitching about it to tell me how many differences it needed to be ok). The fact is, it isn't a blatant copy. I bought it and have no complaints. I will eventually buy the shell rack too. @gmartin284 was great to deal with.

You'll be happy with it. If people start with the shit talking, look and make sure they don't have the knockoff Pro grille

Ha, well I’m only around grown men so I’m not worried with that. Some times I wonder how old some of these people are on here. They whine over the smallest stuff.

Some of us were here when Zach designed his rack, and even had members input.. Then supported his small home business and appreciated the groupbuys he ran. We even cheered when he managed to defend his original ideas and then sell to a bigger company who could better keep up with demand.

Others just want the cheapest ripoff they can buy..

    YMMV I guess.

I'm all for supporting small businesses, hence why I chose to give my money to Martin offroad instead of that "bigger company" that has longer lead times and inflated prices for essentially the same product. I would have supported Zach too if I were around in his smaller days, but he moved on and so did my money.
