Before moving into our new house a couple weeks ago I parked in the garage. Now I get to park in the driveway since the new place has an older garage that is just big enough for my wife's car and my Harley. Previous garage it was a tight squeeze but it fit. Dont mind parking in a driveway except for it getting dirty a lot faster. Previous place was an HOA and we had to park all vehicles in the garage but also had leased parking spots but only if you had more than 2 vehicles, simply saying one does not fit did not do it.

Fits! Don’t mind my daily, I park it in the yard most days.

You're certainly living life right. Nice setup of house, attached garage/workshop. And the stone work is a thing of beauty.

Same size as I built last year. Went with 10 foot walls and an 8 foot door. Looks kind of like a cube. If I had known going in, how much I'd have had left after my renovation, I'd have gone 26x26, or 30x 26. With a few exceptions in this thread, you can always use more garage space.

I really like this one. I always tell my wife we need a large shop with a small house attached. Priorities you know.

B5164123-6731-4069-BCB0-9EDDD17F2AFA.jpg 25x25 single garage door (10x8) fits perfect. Would fit two cars perfect too. Three feet on front and back to spare. Will be adding a mini split before next Arizona summer.

See, and I don’t even have one pizza place that will deliver to me.

Thank you, we were fortunate the previous owner was a landscaper.

We love it, but it’s not for everyone, the house itself is only 1000sqft. The entire place is on a 4000sqft concrete pad.

I’m pretty fortunate, wife had always wanted a small house with a large shop.

Is that what is being built as a garage now? Mine is a 23X24 two car and it is way too small for my needs, however, we have always been able to park both cars inside. I won’t have our cars outside at all. Right now, I have 2 large benches, a compressor, a welder and plasma on separate carts, hytdraulic press, engine hoist, drill press, table saw radial arm saw, and my street bike in there with enough room to walk all the way around my Tacoma and my wife’s JK with the door down. We have had my old Ram 1500 4X4 and the wife’s Durango in there too. This house was built in 1977, though, when cars were still the size of cruise ships.

When I retire in a few years we plan on moving out of state. A top criterion is a large garage. Tier 1 is an attached two car with an existing, or the ability to build, at least a 30X30 in back. Tier 2 is a three car with the third bay a motorhome bay 30 to 40 feet deep. Tier 3 is a standard three car. I’m leaning toward the three-car with the motorhome bay right now. A lift, mezzanine storage, plenty of floor space. It will be insulated, additional electricity, air distribution, climate controlled, and well-lit when I’m done with it. Ideally, a larger detached shop with separate wood and metal shop spaces would be great, but there is this thing they invented called reality. It tends to poop all over your dreams.

In Texas, it’s pretty easy to find large garages or additional shops. Colorado is hit and miss. Washington and Oregon seem to have lots of small to no garage properties. Seems odd in a place where it rains and snows a lot. Idaho, has lots of three car and three-car with a motorhome bay property. I spotted one place outside of Boise with a nice home that needed renovation on five acres with a 2500 SF shop with doors on both ends and a gantry crane. Perfect. Tried to convince the wife we could probably build an 1/8 mile drag strip and hold grudge matches on weekends. She wasn’t buying it…

The wife is good with the rest though. She’s going to get what she wants in the house and she likes that I spend my time building and repairing things rather than out drinking. She always knows where she can find me, I just may be a little grubby.

Mine is 19’ and this is how I park my truck.

i have a few inches all around! Lol. My wife wont even attempt to park my truck in the garage. She will leave it in the driveway and have me park it in the garage.

Nice P-40! My Truck doesn’t fit in my garage... doesn’t even really fit in my driveway either.

Man that’s sweet! My grandson likes looking at the nose art, calls them chompers. A couple months ago he spied the voluptuous female outline and said, ohhhhhh, that’s a mommy!

Love it! They live in Dayton so get to the AF museum often to look at chompers, possibly the ladies too as he gets older!
