I’m looking to get a set of winter tires on steel rims for my 19 Pro.
Is it better to stay with stock size or go for something thinner like a 245/75/16
Also, will the TPMS be thrown off when installing the steel rims.
    Thanks

Tpms won’t work unless you have sensors installed in the new steel wheels. I swap mine myself and don’t worry about it during the winter.

I run FJC steelies with 255/70R17 tires.

On ice the wider tire is better for more contact patch. Cutting though a couple inches of snow is easier on narrower tires, but at some point with deeper snow you want the wider tires again so you can “float” as much as possible.

It’s probably splitting hairs since I’ll bet you see all sorts of different winter conditions. In that case I’d stick with the stock size

either way you’re doing the right thing by getting rid of those stock Goodyears. They were terrible here in Minnesota.

Been running Blizzaks since I got the truck. Same size as stock (if i remember correctly, or slightly bigger). They work great. Had to re-calibrate the tpms to work with the new tires, so i assume your steelies will be fine if you do the same. Currently my "stock" set up is not calibrated to the truck, so I get the constant error blip on the dash and - - - for the psi, so you'll have to remember to calibrate again when you swap because the truck won't magically register them.
