Tech question: When doing a 3"+ lift, is it necessary to do a differential drop ?

I don't believe so but not familiar with 3rd gen that well.
You are going to want to extend your brake lines however:thumbsup:

New UCAs too probably, right? I think 3" MIGHT clear but it'll be real close

It depends on how much angle the current ones get, again I'm not to familiar with 3rd gens.

New JBA UCA's with OME 888 springs up front. Second notch on my 5100's should give me around 3.250" to go with the 2.5" out back

From what I'm reading, going up 3" in a 3rd Gen is like going up 4" in a 2nd Gen.
Diff drop is recommended and possibly a sway bar relocate as well

Lolololol...trucks going to wind up costing me more than both my kids colleges........

    My sway bar is off.
Likes to lean around corners but way better handling off-road.

I'm surprised nobody has invented a sway bar disconnect for these like the Rubicons have. The new Bronco is going to have one as well.

    ETA. More money...lol

I know I'm very jealous of that option too.
But to be honest it's just something else that's going to break/malfunction.

@Ranger357 I took mine off too. I just take it slower around corners but really haven't come across any downsides

I drive like my hair is on fire otherwise I would too.
The sway bar has prolly saved my butt on a bunch of occasions

    @mhoadley
Just a heads up, I know those LCA bolts are seized up.
Hopefully you don't need new bushings but here's the parts list for new hardware16003711990395798565207302004417.jpg
    That's alot of money:bananadead:
I had to get everything for Built for the East because I wasn't sure what was going to happen but I was pretty confident on account I put new stuff on 3 years ago. Which went well and I returned everything.
Speaking of returning for some reason 1 Toyota shop had a 15% charge on returning:bananadead: that's stupid. Called another place they had no prob so watch it.

It's the bushings that are the expensive part.
    Everything else isn't that bad.
You can use my part numbers when you order.
    It goes alot quicker.
I also got them next day:thumbsup:

Did you get new lcas all together or did you have them replace the bushings and hardware in your old ones?

I have some time, but i gotta figure out my gameplan on this before its time for new tires. Not sure if i want to drop the money for aftermarket (dirt king with better bushings, greasable, etc), or do something much easier for my wallet.

    Hey guys,

Back with another dumb question... I know I could go look under my truck but I'm at work and want to preorder fluid if I need to...

So I have to drop my front SOS skid plate to access the front diff? Was considering doing fluid changes on the front and rear diffs, plus the transfer case. However, I do not have the will power to remove that skid plate and get it back on. Took me like an hour the first time using 2 jacks and a big ass hammer.

Im pretty certain you cant access the front diff with the skid in place; at least i cant with my stock skids.

edit: just looked and id 100% need to remove both stock skid plates.
