Are there any fish from shore spots that are good?

 

Plz update thread title East TN - MTB Ride, Camp, and Fish

 

I normally canoe fish but have had luck at the below (About 20 mins bike ride from camp). Forks of the River is cliffs and Ijams Nature Center does not allow shore fishing

It was a much longer ride than I anticipated, but I got to see a little bit of everything in the UW. The highlights were Turnbuckle, Far East, Transfarm, AC/DC, and Barn Burner. One tip: If you park at the church by the asphalt track and try this route, be sure to hit Barn Burner and the asphalt track at both the beginning AND the end. It's a damn good time with a bunch of smooth jump lines and berms. For bigger tables and wall rides, add Devil's Racetrack Downhill to the mix.

It's about a mile from the Brown Bike Farms campsite to the trail if you want to leave your vehicles there while you ride. I didn't do so because I planned to drive back to NC after my ride, but it's certainly doable. Just ride up the street from the campsite to Mayor's Hot Tub and join the loop on Far East. (It's the short blue squiggly line at the bottom right corner of this picture. The campsite is basically where it says "3000 ft" in the box there).

@honda50r I'm out again, wife said she would roast me if I'm not back by dinner Saturday. I'm still going to be up there to get my Kayak. Might try to meet up with you guys for lunch if it works out......

@jjones.yota is currently trying to survive Hurricane Sally in the south of Alabama, I wouldn't count on him making it either.

 

3pm is probably the earliest I would arrive. I'm going to say 4 would be late or if there is really bad traffic or something.

 

Best weather for the upcomingweekend so far this year - should be a real treat. Getting some rain currently and should result in nearly perfect dirt

Sorry fellas I’m not gonna make it up there. This week was stressful as hell getting through Hurricane Sally and we just got home. My truck isn’t finished at the mechanic so I don’t have a way to get up there either.
