Oh yeah, I forgot to respond. It's impossible to provide input without a drawing of what you're trying to accomplish. I wasn't sure what exactly you were asking.

You're getting crankier the older you get. I wanted to say that pic of you standing next to the truck in the woods looked like you had just told some kids to get off your overgrown lawn.

The grey shaded white outlined vertical piece is the 2" square tube. The red is what I perceive to be a piece of flat bar either welded or bolted to the tube.

They sell this, but it's like $150 + depending on where you get it from. I've seen it for $185 LOLOLOLOL

And I wanted to make my own. For a lot less. So I bought the 2" square tube, and now just need to make a bracket.

So this would be the 90 degree bend? I was wondering how you would manage that without a welder. I think between this and being in the hitch, it'll wobble around a bit. You should talk to Tony and see if you could commission him for some welding. Like get everything cut out and have him come over and weld it all up, just a thought. I think bolting something together will be pretty tricky.

I will have to measure everything but I want the tire to rest against the tube. I may even have a plate with a slot cut into it, so It can act as a support, for various size tires.

Ah I see, so you could fold it down to open the tailgate. That's nifty. I still am not sure how to go about it without any welding involved. It'll definitely take some thought.
