Listened to a nice long podcast on the way home. Totally realize how much of a favor that would be asking to pick up a camper and pull out a wad of cash. In all reality that guy should have just said no if he didn't want to sell the shell at night. I had a buddy (no truck) ready to come help me grab it off the guys wooden stand and slap it on my truck. Going to give the guy the benefit of the doubt and assume something horrible happened to him and he truly fears being outside past sunset.

Unfortunately with these shell listings you have to act ASAP and can't wait for a nice long weekend to prepare. If you aren't there that day it's sold to the local guy the next day. It's also not every day a color matched, optioned out, 2016 year shell for a DCSB appears on the market at such a price point.

 

I'd give him the benefit of the doubt as well, a lot of people are wary of meeting others late into the night over a CL listing, FB ad, etc.

 

I agree. I know if you told me me hey I can come at nearly midnight to pu, I would have said take a hike.

 

I don’t even let people come to my home. I meet them at the local police station, during the day. I don’t trust society enough to let them near my home or family. Call me paranoid if you want, I don’t care...

I guess I have my head in the sand, I have both picked up, and sold items at the sellers home, and mine. Perhaps I need to look at things differently, but usually I can get a good feel for people by their responses and in conversation. If I was treated with the disrespect 04_prerunner was treated I would have told the guy to take a hike and moved on. To me, this type of seller raises red flags all over the place and, in my experience, not someone I would want to deal with anyway. Just my two cents...

Agreed. If I have something other than a tool or weapon haven't used in a few years that I dont expect to use again, I pop it up for sale on offerup. A lot of the stuff is less than 20 bucks. I usually just throw it on the porch and tell them leave the cash under the frog figure statue thing. Never had an issue.

 

Anyone selling a 4 channel amp that's in good shape?
