Figured I'd start this as people begin placing allocations for 2021's and arrival at dealers here in a few weeks. Thanks to the mods for stickying this.

*On a side note: To avoid confusion, please try to refrain from using OTD prices. OTD can be vastly different based on trade, taxes, fees, etc. The best way to gauge discounts and pricing is by comparing the MSRP / sticker to the sale price prior to all the other stuff.

Ya I noticed the 2020 thread is starting to get mucked up with them and questions about 21s.

Well I got 4 prices so far on a ‘21 trd sport. Herb Chambers Auburn MA “sticker plus dealer doc “profit” fee, take it or leave it” Herb Chambers Boston MA told me the same thing as did Wellesley Toyota, Wellesley MA, and that was the alleged Costco price. Acton Toyota, Acton MA was $1000 under sticker all in, still a horrible price. If anyone knows a MA dealer that is not gouging during this temporary situation please feel free to share.

Bought my last 3 Tacoma's from Ernie Boch, and will go there again for my 2021 Pro. I wouldn't spit on herb Chambers, worst person to ever deal with.

It’s going to stay ugly well beyond the first quarter of 21 in my opinion. Hopefully, for those looking, there will be deals to be found!

All of my local dealers are firm on MSRP, but I was able to get one of them to beat my Carvana offer on my trade in. After it is all said and done it will cost me about 10k out of pocket to upgrade my '17 TRD Sport to a '21 TRD Sport.

I just heard back from a dealer in NH. "I think you are going to like this quote I prepared". MSRP plus $6k in premium add-ons I don't want.

I might be holding off a solid 6 months.

Started reaching out to dealers today about placing an order for a 2021 TRD Pro. Have one dealer in the Buffalo, NY, area holding firm at MSRP, but still waiting to hear back from the other 6-7 dealerships I contacted. Not expecting much movement, but am expecting at least one dealer to drop the price a little as an incentive for the sale. Keeping my fingers crossed that it works out.

Hmmm, Mass here as well. I had a 2009 TRD Sport, LB, then a 2011 4Runner that was my wife's, now 2015 4runner Limited bought 2 years ago. Looking at 2021 Tacoma but I have been out of the loop it seems, can someone tell me why these are going at or above MSRP in a Pandemic? Is it because supply is so low?

Low supply, high demand equals higher prices

Yep, and people that don’t necessarily need a truck are migrating to Tacoma, demand was there prior to and still there, the owners demographic has definitely changed since I owned my 2nd gens. People willing to pay MSRP and drop another $3-5k for a lift, etc. they don’t need to keep up with the IG Jones. Definitely worth waiting it out right now.

So they obviously slowed production of these vehicles due to the pandemic. The opposite was true on a BMW X5 we just bought. Supply was super high demand super low.

Just for reference purposes, I picked up my 2020 ORDC 4x4 with premium and all the bells and whistles (MSRP 45,123) for about 41,300 plus all the fun "fees" in Feburary 2020 at Woburn Toyota in Mass. I'd hold off till next year if you can since things are crazy at the moment.

I was thinking that production, inventory and pricing would move back into the realm of "normal" than we are seeing now around Q2 2021. Now, I am not so sure. Interesting backdrop:

"In recent months, issues with vehicle inventories have come to the forefront at dealerships across the country, both with new and used vehicles. More expensive vehicles have been particularly depleted, since buyers with higher incomes have been less impacted by the economic downturn compared to those with lower incomes. Mid-size pickups such as the Toyota Tacoma and Chevrolet Colorado are under the most strain."

I'm still in the market, working on lowering price on a Off-Road, but this is where I am at. Also considering dropping the AT down to just regular tech package, but keeping the other 2.

    2021 TRD Off-Road 4WD 3.5L V6 Engine, 6-Speed Automatic Transmission, Cement Color
    - TRD Premium Off-Road Package (Double Cab A/T)
    - Advanced Technology Package
    - LED Headlights/Fog lights

    $41,800 + Tax (6.25%) + TL

Also got this on a 2021 TRD Pro. Not sure how much this helps
