You and I are on the same page. See previous posts! If you can afford have a trail/farm vehicle and have another nice truck that you can take care of until it becomes the farm/trail vehicle as almost always become at some point but its nice to keep it clean until a trail mishap anyway!

The sound of that slurpee spilling was coincidentally the same sound of a kid's college fund suddenly not existing anymore.

Exactly. Currently I don't have that luxury, which is why i try to bring the tacoma back in one piece every time.
Words would be said. Also why if people want to eat/drink in my truck, it's a closed container and nothing small or that has crumbs. Frickin animals

I would double down on every dollar I’ve lost in resale value for the experiences and places my new Toyota has taken me in the first years of ownership. The joy of a brand new vehicle is worthless, to me, in comparison to the memories I’ve collected along with scratches on the paint and the mud in the carpet.

You are correct in the experience comment. I bought an offshore fishing boat about 15 years ago and sold it at about 5 years ago at a 10K loss but the experiences I had on that boat catching grouper, kings, cobia, snapper and seeing sea turtles mate and seeing sharks larger than my boat and also spending time with my REAL Friends made it all worth while. When the new owner pulled away with my boat I just smiled and said you know I really didn't take a loss at all. As I've seen things that a lot of people never get to experience. Very Blessed!

My brand new RAM sits under my RV carport and I drive my 4runner daily. I beat the shot out of my Tacoma, wore it out in 4 years... won’t do that again.

I bought my truck used with a few dents.
I don’t have that “worry” any more.
But Yes, I know that feeling and I don’t miss it a bit.

I actually prefer the interior to be clean over the exterior.
