I’m gonna guess the Composite is lighter than the aluminum also?

ill be honest im not up and up on the differences completely since i dont own one/havent looked into buying one. the 450s are going to be pretty much the exact same bike except for the billet triple i think.

    for the 500s:
linked suspension is typically thought to be better for jumps/high speed (whoops). My 300 is my first PDS bike and i really like it, no link hanging down to snag on rocks/roots if thats youre thing but it can buck a little if you dont preload the front right.

yes but not enough that id worry. the composite is more likely to break as ive seen in the husky 300 threads

what are you wanting to do with the bike? MX? Trail Riding? Dual-Sport?

I bet. I'm judging her for her cycle gear sticker. Those bikes are definitely fun but now that it's gone I honestly don't miss it at all.

It’ll be mostly a dual sport purpose but more on road then off. It’ll be my bike for Mexico when I’m down there and since down there you can drive any type of bike on the street I don’t need it to be fully street legal

I have a sena SMH-10R on mine and the girlfriends helmets. The battery is separate from the controls, so the control is super thin and low profile. I haven't seen another one that comes close. Probably wouldn't play nicely with mesh comms though..

I'm on ADVRider fairly actively. It's not bad over there.

So I did a a bit more research last night. For some reason on revzila their helmet list that the Cardo packtalk bold has doesn’t include my Shoei helmet but has other shoei helmets. It seems the speaker size is 40mm on both sena and Cardo units so I think i should be ok with the Cardo

I've been using the Sena SMH-10 for about 7 years now. I think Sena makes nice stuff but sometimes rushes their stuff to market without it being fully ready. I've chosen to stick with the old reliable that I have because it meets my needs. Just my g/f friend and I riding 2-up and use them to talk to each other, use our phones, and listen to tunes from my iPod on occasion. Buddy of mine has the Cardo and you're supposed to be able to pair them up even though different brands. The issue with doing that is on both units we found it knocks out you phone connection replacing it with a universal intercom protocol. This was not a viable solution for either of us so we opted to not use them as intercoms but instead to use our phones and call each other as needed with each phone paired to our respective com unit. This actually served to increase our distance at which we could talk so no negatives there. I like the Sena being able to charge on the fly. I have 12v into my tankbag and when the Sena gives a low battery warning I can simply plug it in and keep using it. This may not be important to you but for me is critical. My helmets are a Shoei Neotech and a Schuberth C3 Pro both modulars. I also have an Arai Corsair V that I use in winter and my g/f has an HJC modular though right no I don't recall the model number.

All the bike forums I used to frequent died out about a decade ago. ADVrider is the only one I frequent anymore.

So the Cardo has a mesh network and Sena also has a mesh network. But you can’t join cardos mesh If you have a sena and vis-à-vis. You can Bluetooth in to the Cardo network from a Sena device though it is a pain I’m told. I’m probably going to go with the Cardo Packtalk slim as it’s the most sleek design. The pass thru charging on the Sena is nice, but i highly doubt I’ll ever be on the bike for that long that I need to recharge mid ride.

thanks for your input though, definitely does help me out

I have the Sena 20S EVO. I think it recently dropped in price too, since its kinda old now. I just use the FM radio and the music streaming. Also good for maps

Mine don’t ether, and I’ve been servicing them myself for 47 years lol. Every once in a while the seal doesn’t come off with the old filter which is why I always check.

It’s only like $30 less than the 30k that has the mesh networks. Only reason I was going to go with sena was I heard Cardo didn’t play well with shoei, but I called revzilla and they said there’s no issue anymore and I couldn’t find anything that said otherwise that they don’t work now. So likely getting the Cardo packtalk slim. I don’t really want music playing while riding, I enjoy the sound of my engine and the wind. I just want to be able to communicate with the group I usually ride with as I’m the only one who doesn’t have comms lol

I was talking to @FreshOldTaco about this. Do other systems play well with Sena? And vise versa?
