They do make a mess of things more so than fixed:thumbsup:
Much better for tracking but I still hate them.
It's mostly because I like same exact shot every time and I can't do it with mechanicals:bananadead:

Yeah i think after this season im going to try to go lighter. Shooting 67lbs so arrow is only going about 268-269. Might bump up to 70 lb limbs from my 65 lb ones. Shooting for a lighter arrow flying at 280-290.

I struggle more with fixed blades where im at. Its flat and windy here. Less things sticking out for wind to catch the better!

Love it...wouldn’t hesitate to shoot a deer at 60 yards maybe a little more.

Wind is a bitch, I haven't actually tried mechanicals versus fixed on a real windy day.
    Challenge accepted:thumbsup:

    What’s a good bow for a beginner?
I was into target shooting years ago but lost track of the sport.

Go to a good bow shop and shoot several different bows, many variables. Find one that feels good and start there.

Any bow is good. Your learning:thumbsup:
But if you're asking recurve or compound I'd say recurve on account it gives more finesse and less parts to deal with.
Also if you're eventually going compound it makes it easier to transition to.

I should’ve stated that I’m only interested in a recurve bow.

Yes it is! This was my 60 yrd group in the wind a month ago when i was at the range practicing. Wind was gusting so bad it would blow my pins clean off the target bag.

Then do exactly what @buckhuntin-tacoma said.
You don't have to blow a ton of money on it either I know they can be quite expensive but it is about how it feels in your hands.
