Icon rxt leaf pack

Bushing are squeaking on my RXT's on option 2 anyone found a solution to this?

 

Hello everyone
I’m currently on option 1.
I’m planning going on a trip in one week so trying to decide if I should go to option 2.
I think that with the camping equipment and coolers I’m going to carry about 150-250LBs and I was wondering if the best option was to go to option #2. I wont be doing any off-Roading just your normal fire roads to get to the campsites.

If I do need to make the change, do I have to take the leaf springs off the truck ? or can i do it with the help of the C clamp while they are still on the truck?

You’d be fine staying on option 1.

you might be able to do it on the truck, but I’d just take it off.

 

you dont have to completely remove the leaf spring. just have come C clamps, loosen the u bolts and remove those "chingaderas" at the ends. slide out the one leaf and replace it with Opt 2 spring. took me about an hour.

probably a good time to lube them and install the leaf liners. these things are like a dogs chew toy, squeeky AF.

 

Mine are fairly quiet. They will get a little squeaky from time to time if they get full of dirt but usually after a wash they are fine.

 

im in houston, the humidity and moisture is a killer.. like living in an arm pit

 

Lather some deodorant in between the leafs lol

Does it matter which leaf gets slid out and replaced?
Also, what do I do with the C Clamps?

Still wondering about the Clamps tho

 

I c clamped them to keep them together when I removed the center Bolt on the leaf pack.. then exchanged the leafs and aligned them up and c clammed them. Put Center bolt back and chingaderas. Jacked the axle up to the leaf and installed u bolts

 

Hey everyone! I just installed the Icon RXT leaf pack. I'm currently running option 2 with tundra fox 2.5 with dsc and I'm getting 24.75" center hub to fender. My truck is stock. This is about 2.75" of lift in the rear. I was expecting 2.25" as per Icon documentation. Is this normal?

 

It will settle over time. I think mine on Option 1 settled about half an inch

 

@Island Cruiser I think I'm going to tow my dump trailer around to help it settle.

 

@Island Cruiser what was your final rear height on option 1?

 

From center of hub to bottom of fender:
Driver’s side: 23 3/4”
Passenger’s side: 24 1/4”

I wish I jotted down if I had a full tank of gas in my notes, but it was definitely at least a half tank of gas

 

I have used these at all 3 levels for one reason or another.
Started with no weight on level 1. Changed to 3 when we thought we were going to get a slide in camper, which didn't work out. Settled on 2 since we have about 300-400# of bumper, winch and armor with a Rtt and gear when we can.
They all ride nicely, almost soft and supple while over all fairly similar from the seat. The height though is not similar at all. 3 with no weight in the back is up there stink bug style.
It's a nice set of leafs with choices.
What more could one ask for?

I'm currently running option two with no extra weight (and Tundra Fox 2.5 w/ DSC). I have hub to fender measurements in the rear of 25" driver and 24.75" passenger. I still have to fine tune the front. I'm considering going to option #1. Based on your response, I should still be able to get ~2" lift in the rear on option #1. I'm so thinking if won't be as stiff.

What are your thoughts?

 

@BRFAb the only thing I would ask for; is that I knew exactly what I wanted and to have beforehand experience with this leaf pack. I'm new to lifted trucks. It's a learning experience and l'll have to make adjustments as I go until I am satisfied with the results.

 

That’s good to know, I’ve always wondered what Option 2 would be like without extra weight in the back. I’d say move down to Option 1 as long as you know for sure you won’t be adding substantial weight. I have loaded some power equipment, toolbox and etc. with this option and didn’t notice much of sag. It did soften up the ride as expected. What are your measurements up front?

 

I don't think my leaf pack has settled yet. It still much higher than I expected.

Fronts are 23.5" driver side and 23.75" passenger side. I'm bringing that down <= 23" as soon as I get some time. I figure this is also adding to the rear height. The good news is I WFH so its not a DD. I'm starting to realize that the best ride quality will not be a 3/2 lift. I have to find the balance between max lift height and ride quality. I foolishly thought I could get both.
