This made me into a "whisky drinker". Does bourbon count?

I wish those tasty Heaven Hill bottles would drop out here regularly. It's been a struggle the past year and a half. Hell last year I never saw the A and B batches near me but luckily I found them while traveling.

Found this on the speciality shelf. Sweet like candy. Nothing more than ice needed.

I'm on the fence with the flavored whiskies.
I've been given a Knob Creek smoked maple, Wild Turkey Honey, and Crown Royal green apple. The Knob Creek goes well with a splash in coffee or hot chocolate, and the Wild Turkey goes okay in a mug of hot cider (but honestly no better than Captain Morgan's), but I haven't found anything I like the Crown in yet. And drinking any of them straight up was horrible; WAY too sweet.

I'm in agreement with you. Bourbon and to a lesser extent rye are already sweet, and adding artificial flavor just ruins it typically. I do like the Devils River Coffee Bourbon, it's like Kahlua but with a huge 80+proof kick.

For some reason, I really like Bird Dog Peach as a mixer. Super random, super cheap, and pretty cheap tasting. But mix that up like a mule (bitters, ginger beer, lime), it's pretty damn good.

I’ll be headed back down that way in the next week or two. They had a few of them, I’ll pick one up if you want. It’s a little hole in the wall in Barnwell, SC
