dont spray into your mouth after eating habanero peppers, it might stop the burn, but bread would be a better choice, which we all
know that you know, know what I mean

That reminds me of my encounter with an Elk (Wapiti).

It was during a trip to Rocky Mountain National Park.
A friend and I had a hiking/camping permit for the back country.
We were on a trail between Grand Lake and Big Meadows...if anyone happens to know it.
I had a touch of altitude sickness (big headache) and wasn't acclimated yet.

So I'm trudging uphill with my head down and panting.
Crested the rise and rounded a big boulder and came face to face with an Elk coming downhill.
I guess he was as startled as me because he let out a tremendous grunt, almost a bark.
Scared the ever loving crap out of me.

We saw quite a number that evening and the next morning when they came down to graze in Big Meadows.

BTW, Pennsylvania has a season on Elk. Tags assigned by lottery IIRC.
There are perhaps as many as a thousand now in the northern tier of counties.
In 2000, the estimated population was 566, double what it was in 1990.

had a similar experience in Yellowstone.hiking up to a small lake through very dense and tall brush.climbed across a big deadfall, parted the brush and a large cow was looking at me from about 10 ft. we were both surprised as hell. She just looked at me for few moments and walked away. 2 days later we surprised a Big Bull Moose feeding, we turned very slowly and walked away very quickly. we were only about 100 yards from the road and he walked out towards the road. quite a few people stopped their cars, got out and some walked up way too close to snap pics, I stopped and took mine from a much safer distance. Really miss that country.

Um...in my experience, they're gonna get bigger all by themselves.
Middle age and some extra weight, you know...

If for some reason I mention the word boobs...
Mrs Gritto immediately pulls up her shirt and says: "You like 'em? You can have 'em".
Apparently, they cause her back strain.

    Mrs Gritto, what a joker.
If she busts on me (which she does a lot) and I call her a wise guy...
She whips 'em out and says: "Nah, I'm a girl".
