planning on picking something up (the tentcot that Cabelas makes), but it depends on if i go through with the deal or not, waiting on more photos of it later today. It'd be a simple pickup-meetup-trade, though that might change if the seller is willing to wait till the end of the week since i could take the long way around to Huntsville and then up to the cottage

    Mostly stock for now...
Having driven Hamilton to British Columbia a few times (When I was working in BC for a couple of years) It would take us a week to make the trip one way. - 2 days to get out of Ontario and two provinces a day after that. I always wanted to go back and really take my time exploring along the way. There is so much to see once you get off the TransCanada Highway. It would be awesome to travel to Tuk and taking a couple of months would really let you enjoy the journey and not get distracted by rushing to the finish line - just so you could say "You did it..." - I'm hoping to retire next year - that would be one heck of a trip!

I've crossed from Toronto to Edmonton in 1.5 day multiple times driving solo while working out west. Personally I would be doing it again then spending couple of days at Jasper/Banff to recover and continue trip up north at slow pace. In my personal experience there is absolutely nothing worth seeing between Sudbury to Calgary and it's just fvcking hell with meth cooking chicks, really bad roads, gas stations where CC machines are broken at pumps and don't work after midnight... But again, I am spoiled by seeing much more beautiful places in YouAssofA.

Banff/Jasper is only on #5 of my list, right after Death Valley, Mojave Desert, Bonneville Salt Flats and Big Bend in TX.:crapstorm: Hopefully Tuk gets in the top 5...

I've got a limit of 8 to 10 hours a day of driving.
And every 2 to 3 hours stop and get out of the vehicle.
But thats just me at 53.
When I was younger....... well, most know that story and if you don't you will..

I am 2x times younger, so I got 20-25 hours driving limit and don't need to stop as often ;)

Last time I made from Edmonton to @TeecoTaco place in Sarnia in 32 hours, then after lunch time went to @tacoma16 place for a dinner and by the end of day 2 of my non-stop-redbull-driving finally arrived home only to fly back on day 3 back to Edmonton :bananadead::annoyed:

Pretty common in the prerunner world. Not sure of the purpose but I have seen it on a few rigs.

Needed a mounting solution that lets me alter the position of the LED light bar but will still allow me to use the backrack for loading a canoe or whatever else onto it. This way i can have my cake and eat it too. But only one flavour at a time

Hinges have a sort of rubber bushing on them so they sort of stay in place in whatever position, but are currently strapped down to prevent movement.. they'll rust in due time but its mostly a proof of concept right now to see if its a good idea or not. Need to figure out a better method of keeping it in place but that might mean more rivuts :cookiemonster: i love riv nuts

Only idea like this one i could like is some guy who did something similar but with a servo or actuator or something and switches so that it pops up and down via switch. Mine is completely manual
Its literally this video i was just talking about.

the idea is a mix bag of reasons. In some US states, you need a cover on your light bar to prevent you from accidentally blinding people, so if its hidden away - does the same job.

Also allows the use of the backrack as a loading platform for ladders, 2x4s, canoes, whatever is too long and wont fit in the bed(as demonstrated in the first 30 seconds of that video you posted)
What he did is overkill in my opinion - but the system is also a solid mount and doesn't seem it will budge in any way while driving. Mine might bounce around a bit, trying to figure out a decent lock system to it

Also need 4 M6 security screws/ tamper proof screws. Anyone have a good source to get them other than Ama-not-so-zoom?
