I do feel like I should have added VZ and ignored T. I appreciate the yield, but there is no good reason T can’t recover anytime over 6 months. The cut dividend talk just gets louder as they trudge along

When is the last time a Dividend Aristocrat cut its dividend? And how many, in say, the last 10 years have done so? I really don't know, but those are more rhetorical questions, because I think the answer would be pretty low.

It’s low for sure, but this dragging on seems to be putting the most pressure on them. Again, if they do, I’m pretty sure they’d bring it back ASAP

 

The chain reaction of cutting a dividend is pretty bad for a company (investors sell, market cap drops, raising new money becomes more difficult, etc.) It would be a bad business choice.

 

I only know because my wife is Swedish, lol. They certainly took a different approach to the whole thing but their honesty was refreshing. They basically said a lot of people are going to die and we can’t afford to have the economy tank. They were already in a really shitty place economically so that drove their decision mainly. They made a lot of other adjustments and people stayed home quite a bit but the didn’t have a government “lockdown” per se. they come visit us and think it’s insane here. Nobody there wears masks.

 

I agree, and it’s why the big ones are holding on. But at some point they think, how much more can we drop, let’s conserve some cash for 6 months. I still find it unlikely

of course we are on a short leash... not only on this website but in society in general. There is a willful leveraging of power by many large entities to suppress information and indoctrinate, either because they are fearful of backlash if they do not do otherwise, or because they agree with it. You will bend the knee and repeat after us or face consequences. You will not question us, and you will not present alternative viewpoints in general, or you will be sorry.

What they do not understand is all discourse and real conversation, among nearly all other aspects of the "compass" (left/right/authoritarian/libertarian, excluding the little corner called "left+authoritarian") is moving underground, which is causing a larger divide and isolation of echo chambers, and the end result will not be pretty.

RGR, SWBI, AOUT, VSTO would be my stock picks.

Disclaimer, this website seems to have zero tolerance regardless of your political leanings, but the mods are human, and humans have bias. What the bias is among the mods on this site is questionable at best. I have been banned for something seemingly innocuous as it was devoid of any political opinion whatsoever, and was commentary on the way the market was moving after a tweet by a man with weird hair about Fed policy. But ok, fine, guess I crossed a line there. But do other people cross the line further, and they get more slack because of *what* they are saying? Probably, and it would highly correlate with pretty much every other aspect of online discourse and idea sharing, and the selective silencing of free speech.

This is the problem when differing opinions can’t be shared and discussed openly. Then you only hear thoughts and opinions the same as your own, and the divide gets larger.
