So maybe the ultimate would be the OnX6+ bar with 2 Squadrons :). That'd get the distance, and still allow for some flexibility with the pattern and aiming. Decisions decisions - thanks for the info. As with most things, there's more than one way to skin a cat as they say.

Painted the brackets with some steel-it, and added a little bit of ARP bling. Can’t wait to see how the sae lights work on the road!

Now I'm on this light craze thing. As you mentioned one obvious limitation of the bar is the ability to direct light (to the sides at least). Can you talk about the visual difference (light on the road wise) one might see between say a 20" bar on hi and maybe (3) LP4's or bar on low with (2) LP6's (so similar lumen output?

Would you be able to tell difference in the output or is it just a matter of being better able to have some amber and some white?

Got the squadron sport pods on the a-pillar mounts. The rear flushmount's go on as soon as the bumper comes in!

If you could get me a picture of the reflection off the hood at night, that would be much appreciated.

You could also get an onx6 racer for all our distance lighting and squadron pros, or better yet XL80s for near and midfield.

my ditch light setup is XL80s (pointed straight forward) with a spot lens and S1s mounted to the sides pointing outward. There really isn’t a zone these 4 lights don’t take care of. Even with the spot pattern the XL80s throw light everywhere.

I don’t but it’s more forward facing light then I really need. I also have a 40” onx6 hi power which Obviously throws our way more light since it’s equivalent to 4 XL80s and 2 XL racers but I could be completely satisfied with just my ditch light setup.

I see. I'm debating on puting the XL Sports up on the A pillar with the S1 for ditch. Just wondering how much hood reflection it would give.

I have none but that’s why I run spot lenses, and a different truck but that shouldn’t really matter as my brackets are pretty low profile so they’re not sitting way above the hood or anything.

If you wanna reap the full benefits of the XL size I’d skip over the sports personally.

not much glare. I run wide cornering lenses on my XL80 ditch lights and don't get much hood glare...You're gonna have to deal with the XL lights being too heavy for the ditch brackets (esp if you add a S1 on there as well) and they vibrate like crazy when driving down the road.

The biggest difference between a light bar and the LP series is the optics. The LP series has a smooth 200 degree spread, which fills in the gaps and provides excellent coverage. The max a light bar can provide is a 42 degree beam with a wide cornering lens. But each have their place. I'm a big advocate for the LP series (I run three LP6s on my rig) as they're very efficient. It's also important to identify where you're mounting this light in order to make sure you're taking full advantage of it. For example, behind the grille or an A-pillar is not the best location because you're not using the full spread. In my opinion the best location is on a front bumper.

    Lumens:
    20" Onx6+ provides 24,920 (High)/18,460 (Low) lumens
    LP4 provides 8,750 lumens each (No High/Low)
    LP6 provides 10,300 (High)/4550 (Low) lumens each

Intensity will be similar depending on what mode you're on and the number of lights. I listed the lumens so you can identify what's close and what's not for each setup.

You guys don’t have any stronger brackets? The SDHQ brackets on my ram are rock solid with the 80s and S1s. I figured their yota brackets would be similar in strength. Maybe a piece of flat stock could be welded in as a gusset on one of the brackets offered?

If they were cowl mounted I’m sure they would be. But since they mount to the hood hinge it creates vibes. SDHQ couldn’t guarantee their brackets would be vibration free from what @Rome604 said.

Thats disappointing. Vibrating ditch lights would drive me nuts but I put on a ton of miles and a lot of highway.
