It's out of stock because we are two weeks out from Ryzen 4000 series desktops. Cancel your order and wait. 20% IPC increases are the leak at this point. It'll drive down the cost of the older chips as well.

Jumping down another rabbit hole :spending:

I am comfortable enough to build/mod and do enjoy researching and learning new things.

I'll check out some vids and the link provided and be back with some questions I'm sure.

    Thanks all!

Be interesting to see who can make more profit...the resellers with Nvidia or the ps5 people.

Some day companies will learn about supply at launch. Then again I'd bet they do it intentionally

It's intentional. This reeks of, "someone leaked our cooler, get the designs to AIBs ASAP and call a launch date before they can supply the market or AMD can respond."

How old is she and what kind of games is she looking to play? I built a light-duty system last month with an AMD 3200G processor that can actually run quite a few games with decent playability without a graphics card. Cost was around ~$550 with no monitor/keyboard/mouse. I was quite impressed with the system's performance.

She's 13, I'm not 100% on what games she's into to be honest...sure she's mentioned them to me, but, ya know :)

I like the flexibility of upgrading as we go, not looking to spend a pile of money right off the hop but don't want to cheap out on something that is already obsolete. This is all new to me, will be a learning experience for sure.

Now, off to google an AMD 3200G processor

3200G will get you started but, so you know, the CPU is based on old Zen plus technology. Only AMD chips without discreet graphics use the newest CPU core design they have.

I got close twice with no luck. Got one in my cart on EVGA and sold out as I was doing payment. Same thing at Bestbuy.com

Want the 3090 hydrocopper, but would have took a 3080 and sold it once I got the 3090. Got a feeling the 3090 launch is gonna be worse. Titan level card at 2080TI prices, bots are gonna be way more after them.

eBay should force sellers to list the serials. Then nVidia could easy figure out whose running the bots and take action.

In all honesty I was 100% ready for a 3090, but I might go back to AMD even if it's more like a 3070 and a half after the shitshow nVidia has created. Who launches a major product with roughly 1000 units total and probably 20x that demand.

Im more just surprised how pathetic nvidia's supply was. The rumors said it wasn't great but don't think anyone would have guessed it would be this bad.

Ebay should really just out a like two week pause on any big ticket new item to be sold there. Ps5, 3080, ect. Won't stop the bots but at least make them work a bit harder to sell. Since no retailer seems to care to actually prevent bot buying and just says oops sorry when crap like this and the ps5 sales/preorders happen

Microcenter has almost everything in stock, lower on CPU's and Motherboards than anyone else and they price match. I ended up scoring the 10980xe for $741 thanks to Amazon's ad. I ordered one from Amazon and they sent a 10920x-they listed the 10980 but were selling the 10920. Oh well, Thanks Microcenter for the price match.

Yeah, they clearly launched this product before they should of. I'm getting a bit tired of Jensen doing shit like this. Super series, price gouging, and now two launches in a row without product on the shelf. I hope this catches up with them soon, someone needs to lay a beat down on them. I don't care if it's AMD or Intel.

Too many but also not enough mods
Yonkers and Brooklyn had a secret reserve list for the 3080 today. Everyone that went got nothing, total BS, I was the 1st in line.

The mobile intel xe is looking quite impressive so far.

Amd should push up some sort of announcement for big navi. Now would be perfect after the hype turned to frustration with nvidia

It's funny, one minute the rumors are they're shutting the Xe division down and the next all Intel can talk about is Xe. I'm curious to see what actually happens on the discrete side. People forget but in 2018 they showed us a roadmap that said we should have mainstream consumer cards by now. The lack of chatter around that has me worried they will bail out at some point. Xe is a MCM design, which even AMD hasn't figured out yet with their experience in it on the CPU side, so I'm not sold Intel has anything that's competitive in the gaming space.

I feel like some of the Xe talk is to get away from the beatdown AMD is about to lay on Intel. If Zen 3 matches its leaks, it'll bypass Intel core on core by around 10% and still have higher core counts.

AMD has leaked a bunch of stuff about the 6000 series. I'm convinced it's intentional since this was all leaked after nVidia dropped their announcement date. A couple of notes reputable leakers are posting.
    • Originally the top end card AMD was a 250 watt model that could push roughly 10-20% past the 2080Ti. That makes it probably better than the 2070 but not quite in 2080 territory.
    • That GPU die though is ready to scale power, and supposedly could handle 325 watts of juice with nearly linear gains. AMD wasn't going to go there because they thought the market would react poorly to a 325 watt card, but with nVidia posting 350 watt draw with the 3080 AMD is tempted to release a new BIOS that will push the card above into 3080 performance.
    • AMD has been very quite about ray tracing. It's definitely a feature but nVidia will likely be much better at it.
    • AMD will not have DLSS. nVidia suggested DLSS could be licensed last year but AMD won't touch it apparently. They will stick with their own image sharpening algorithm. They may have Intel on board. Rumor is Xe will use AMDs code for AI image sharpening.
    • The AMD top end card will have 16 GB of DDR6. DDR6X is possible though unlikely since nVidia pretty much owns the memory controller design. HBM2 will not be used, apparently over half the cost of a Radeon 7 card was the HBM2 memory and AMD wants to have room on these cards to undercut nVidia as necessary.
    • AMD was going to price the top of their stack at $599 with a possibly cut down model at $499. This would be similar to the 5700/5700XT series with the lower card losing some memory access but being the exact same otherwise. However AMD scraped that idea after the nVidia launch and will only drop one card in the flagship category at $549.
    • It will be the $599 variant priced now at $549, which either means that card will be nearly a 3080 and a steal but run hot or it will be just past a 3070 and a flop while running cool lol.
    Edit:
    • One more rumor that I'm very interested in but many won't care. The AMD card leaks show a USB-C type port on the card. AMD has clarified that the port is NOT for VR headsets like nVidia suggested. The big rumor is that the 6000 series card will have a Thunderbolt 3.0 port compatible with DisplayPort daisy chaining. If that is true it's a feature that's being underplayed, that would be huge for me since it would add Thunderbolt to my Ryzen system and allow me to run one cable from the graphics card to both my monitors.

Omg watching the Crysis Remastered preview Linus put together, that shit is going to be the new benchmark lol. It's wrecking the RTX Titan and 3080 on "Can it run Crysis," mode.
